About MIDI Music Editing

I am using Soundfonts when I record MIDI sounds. Even after downloading good instrument sounds off the internet and using them, the music still sounds like MIDI(robotic, choppy, none studio sound to it). How can I do some synth editing with soundfonts?

don't know much about soundfonts but the best way to make your music sound like real music is to actually play as much as possible. The midi will only repeat out what you put into it. There is also in cakewalk something called style enhancer which will do something to make your midi sound less stiff but I've never used it..... also judicous editing of your midi in the event window will make for some variety........ultimately though (i may catch hell for saying this) the sounds produced in your computer on your sound card are somewhat limited in their sound due to the lack of real time "expression" like loudness and attack and decay....I get a better acoustic piano off an old korg m1 than any midi sounds I have found built on to soundcards.....in order to get sounds I want in the PC I aquired software/samplers specifically for that purpose like giga studio and other softsynths...

Kennedy is right, if you can PLAY the soundfonts, it will sound alot better.

Midi Files can be "robotic" because it's played exactly on time, but humans are off a little bit. That is the sound you are looking for I think.
In Sonar under Midi effects>Quantize look for randomize %
this should make the file more "human"
