Hello.

I couldn't deicde where I should post this message
about Boss Dr.Rhythm or Boss Dr.Groove.
anyway I am considered to post in Drums section.
Something's wrong about this, please tell me.

I am thinking about to buy Dr.Rhythm 202 or Dr.Groove 770.
I read couple review about it, but they were always happy with it.
Is this best choice for poor who still want to play with music.
Before that, I am a student with interesting of making music.
I've played a guitar for a while, and like rock.
but also like techno(specially trance) and some experimental music. Maybe jamming with that..

Thus firstly, what are you think about these machines?
One of reviews said that perfactly fit on Dance music.
what about rock? I hope I could heard one is better than
another sometime. Because I really can not decide which
one is better for me. (even prices are not that different)

And nowadays, in the market, there is many softwares
that provide simiulational drum kit on computer or
make groove(Drum Kits from hell or SF Acid for example).
At this point, I am not going to use these for live performance,
but for recording with my computer.
(I really don't have brand new computer, iMacSE and AMD 400)

Please tell me about between real drum machine and software.
if you choose software rather than drum machine, what software
should you recommand to me?

Thanks for read my message!!
And any suggestion or reply so welcome.

Have great day and night.
See you soon around here ^_^

P.S : + as you heard I don't have much money to spend,
so I'm looking for pre-owned machine, what can I test them
at the place(perhaps, don't have enough time to look everything).

+ like if I used drum machine or software drum kit to create music,
what do I need to do with lisence or law stuff??
Can I just use for free unless I bought them?

i have a dr.660 and i love it! i like it better than the 770 cause it has 4 outputs.

I have 2 Dr-660's, they are nice units, plus you can get'em cheap used. And the 4 outputs are nice( l&r out, 2 individual outs) my only diss is ive maxed out the memory on both units. And only wrote 3 songs per machine, i think the dr-770 has twice the memory.

Thank you so much for replies, maskedman72 and detuned6.

Thus you guys are saying that real drum machine is better than
Drum machine "software"??

I tried FruityLoops and HammerHead(which is free),
both were nice, but FL doesn't fit on my old computer, sadly.
However I felt FruityLoops or Reason are just great for techno,
not punk, rock.. etc.

If possible tell me a little bit more, so welcome any suggestion.
Have nice week and see you.

P.S: I found only Dr.707 used unit for around 200 bucks.

You mean a DR-770? thats a good price. Fruty loops is not really something you whanna use for rock or metal.
I wouldnt say that a "real drum machine is better than
Drum machine "software"??"
Drum machines has a limited memory/ram, unless you get a sequencer, that has like zip disks to save onto.
