hello people.

i am totally new to home recording and i'm looking for help.

i'm into making my music using my ZOOM RT123 drum machine for beats and bass and an old yamaha keyboard for the rest of it. nothing fancy, just some mellow instrumentals.

fed up getting ripped off at local recording studios and i fancy trying my luck by myself.

i'm totally clueless when it comes to using my computer for music and have no idea how to do it.

all i really need to know is how to hook up my equipment to the pc, what software to use as a recorder (not very well off, so cheapest possible or even free!) and i should be ok.

all advice appreciated.
cheers

You can save alot of time, money, and headaches by looking into all in one harddisk recorder. Their alot of fun too.

If your Keyboard and Drum machine are Midi capable then all you really need to connect them to your PC is some sort of Midi interface...There are many Midi interfaces available for quite cheap and if you have a Joystick port on your PC you can get an adapter to turn the Joystick port into a Midi port....

If your equipment isn"t Midi then you will need an Interface or sound card of some sort like maybe a M-audio 2496 or a Delta 66...Both will let you record from analogue and Midi sources at the same time.....

Good luck
