Ableton hanging

I see deaf people
since around four updates ago Ive had more and more problems with Live hanging on opening...especially if Ive opened Sonar before it....freezing my PC completely


I eventually rolled back to 8.1.1 and it started again...but Ive found the culprit


My mpd24.....if it hangs unplugging it allows Live to open normally...fucking geezuz, that took a bit of detective work, I was going mental


Im on the latest firmware on the MPD, if this is a problem for any of the 4 Live users on here ( :laughings: ), dont update the firmware on your MPD though.....a huge proportion of them get bricked during the firmware update...unbelievable for an item that has "pro" written on it, I think Ill flog this and get a Korg pad kontrol


anyway back to updating to 8.1.5 :)

i just wanted to post something in here as no one had for 4 weeks.....random moments in my ableton life, a gripping thrilla :D
 
well, kc unfortunately that's what you get with an MPD24....I used one and didn't like it at all, granted it's better than the trigger finger (which is a joke)...i'm interested: are you using it to control Ableton or are you just using it as a sampler? I use NI's Maschine and It's a sampler, a techno/trance/ambient/hip hop/beatmaking master, and you can control ableton with it :D (although i'm getting the APC40 :D:D:D)

I only use it for programming beats......I find it quicker than drawing them in plus i get a snare kick idea in my head and its easier just to play it


though funny enough my ideas all sound the same :laughings:


it sounded much better when I was using acoustic samples...which I really need to incorporate more

I use a PCR to control ableton....not sure how much Id get out of maschine
