I've asked for basically the same thing over on the "Events" board. I'm looking for a comparison between the Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96 and the Echo (formally Event) "Mona" to be released in February. No response yet. Check out the Mona at http://www.echoaudio.com . I was impressed. The Direct Pro and Mona have a lot in common except the Mona also has ADAT optical connections (if you need them) plus headphone volume control and level control (with LED meters) for each of the four inputs. Like the Direct Pro it also has universal (1/4" or XLR) connections for your instruments, mics, etc. Comes with a scaled down version of Cool Edit Pro for editing but I'll be using Cakewalk 9.

I'll be watching your message thread for responses.

I don't get it - $995 for only four inputs? I like being able to set volume for each input in the software, though.

Who thinks up the names for these cards? What's next? Brenda? Edna? Grizelda?

Dobro,
I agree. When will they have a Fred or Leon? I know Mona has a MSRP of $999 but that's typically of all the manufacturers. I'm guessing Musicians Friend or one of the other ones will sell it for about $500. We won't know until after the NAMM show this weekend. Look at the new Tascam TD-1000 digital mixer. It lists for $1299 but Musicians Friend and I think Sam Ash sells it for $499. Go figure.
Who is selling the Aardvark Pro Direct 24/96? I can't seem to find it in any of the usual online catalogs.
