Been out of the buisness for awhile but thinking about getting back in but giving the PC a try. I was wondering if I need a seperate mixer for the Aardvark Q10 or can I just use my computer? Or even the ST Audio DSP2000 for that matter? Do i need a seperate mixer or can I just use this unit and my PC?

And if i'm good to go. I have a ASUS A7V333 mobo,AMD 2400+ , 768mb DDR, 40gb 7200 rpm hard drive. Of course the Aardvark Q10 or ST Audio DSP2000 will be my sound card.

you can you the Q10 without a mixer....

check with Aardbark about system compatability, but the specs are more than enuff......

does anyone know if I can do the same with the ST Audio C-Port DSP2000 without the mixer? Theres a huge price differane so my wife is you know, getting on my case about the cheaper one :-\

youll need a mixer or some external preamps.....i think the c-port only has 2.....the q10 has 8......

You have a wife? Sorry, man, but she'll have to go in order for you to continue buying what you need.

:D

My Q-10 is one the best "bang for the buck" purchases I have ever made. As an all-in-one unit the thing rocks. It is pretty spendy though.

I agree with Chris, if the wife isn't with the program, she'll have to go so that your true inner artist can be unleashed. :D

Just to be clear --

You do NOT need an external mixer if you use the Q10. This particular interface includes a mixer that runs on a DSP chip in the interface itself for "zero" monitoring latency.

It also comes with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 for recording purposes.

Hey Q10 users...

Is the Q10 software compatible pretty much across the board? (i.e. cubase, logic, cakewalk etc.) I'm trying to decide between the Q10 and a 1010 (8 pres would be nice...)

By the reviews of things it seems like the q10 has it buy not by far.. Thanks for the help.

The Q10 supplies drivers in lots of different flavors (mme, asio, mdm), so it ends up working with just about everything one way or another. I don't know if they have mac drivers or not, I'm a PC guy.

The Q10 mac drivers are in beta now (see arrdvark site)

Windows users should check all compatibility issues prior to getting your Q10. Might save some headaches.
