Ok I took the plunge. Just ordered the Q10 yesterday. I'm aware of some of the problems people have had with Windows 2000, etc but I'll be using it with Windows 98SE and CW PA9.

I'll be selling my Yamaha DSP Factory (DS2416 card and AX44 interface) along with the CW PA9 (the new one coming with the Q10) in the next couple of weeks.

hmm, you might want to hang onto DSP factory...lots of people like it a lot, think its pretty unique. I've never actually used one.

As far as the Q10...great unit...terrible drivers. I have had one for about 3 months...never really been able to use it. Win98 DRIVERS work ok, but I really can't get the whole system going with all of my software etc. <shurg>.

I like the Aardvark and all, don't get me wrong...but, there is just something about it...got a sour taste in my mouth now.

I am actually to the point where I am considering getting a Delta1010, running them both in the same computer...using the Delta with outboard preamps...and just using the Vark for its preamps etc. At any rate, hopefully this month we will get some damn drivers?? Then I will be happy.

ah...I didn't even look at who posted this. the digital don..of course...of course. Yes, the Q10 will work much better for your drum tracks, certainly.

One thing I havn't been able to look at yet (b/c my win98 keeps crashing the vark control now..) is the 'EQ' section of the aardvark software mixer. supposedly it is pretty good and has some compression and what not as well...to really maximize the sound. Of course...it's still gonna be in digital form when it compresses...so, not gonna help with avoiding clips...but, overall level and such. Guess I will still use Waves.

But, next time No Stigma wants to give it a run, I think they will be hap hap happy with the results. Though, I imagine they were last time. I liked that feel real tune.

Hi,

Our drivers for Windows XP and 2000 are available in beta form from our website, which can be downloaded from www.aardvark-pro.com.

In general, most people are using these beta drivers with good results. I have had many Aardvark users email me and call me with their Windows 2K and XP beta success stories. Its our goal to get ALL of you running under XP and 2K, which we will do shortly.

The main problem which has come up with the beta drivers is an installation problem that some users have experience. We have developed a patch that gets most of these beta testers up and running, which is available now.

This issue will be addressed in an official release which is in the works. We'll also making the embedded sofware more efficient so when the final driver is released, you should experience even better latency performance (down to 1-3ms).

If you have any questions or comments on our beta drivers, or would like to try the Beta installation Patch, feel free to email me at thomas@aardvark-pro.com.

PS: Wes480, Ben in our tech support dept. should be able to help you with any Windows 95/98/ME issues that you may have experienced. Feel free to drop him an email: tech@aardvark-pro.com or give us a call and ask for Ben.

Hi Thomas,

I am running the DP 24/96 with Windows XP PRO. I believe It is through beta 4 - although Lord knows I tried beta 5..and really, I can't recall exactly how I got 4 to load. All seems in order now. I like the card alot.

I am using Sonar (trial version so far - 'til I breathe easier about all of this).

Having said that, are there XP system settings that allow the 24/96 to perform at its optimum? Perhaps Aardvark could come up with such a checklist. The quick start setup guide to Sonar was definitely helpful. BTW, which web site is the official one? (www.aardvarkaudio.com or www.aardvark-pro.com - they have differences)

I run with 512 MB ram.

Thanks, and "Bring on the drivers!"

I sold my Aark

Best thing I ever did. I was promised WDM drivers a year ago, and they're still not available. I bought a MOTU 2408, and have been working under 3ms since.

Aardvark, hi
will there be Windows ME WDM for the original direct pro? i've been using WDM drivers in Windows ME with Sonar, acheiving ultra low latency midi and live input monitoring (using multiple effects plug ins while recording audio)...i've got a delta 66..funny though, M-Audio has no 'official' WDM support for ME.
