i hope they're right at aardvark. Last week they told me they're releasing an official pre release version of a compatable windows xp driver. I sure hope so, because we've been waiting a long time for this...........

wow it took em this long to get em??..

what'd they're development team go on strike (or to sleep) for a couple months?

yeah....I got the prerelease drivers this past friday (talked to technical support...never been able to get my card running even in win2k). They worked for me...used it all weekend on some sessions...and it worked well...very stable. - Even if the sessions wern't exactly magic..heh.. some of my first attempts...if you want to hear, check out the "last minute" post in the mixing clinic :)

wes480,

Can you send me a copy of the pre-release? Aardvark's pretty slow to responding to my request. I'm assuming that the pre-release is also for XP. Thanks.

Uuuummmm... ok, so I fill out their prerelease forim and THEN what? It doesn't take me to anywhere that I can download the drivers, it just tells me what info I submitted???

.....well now....I posted the link without trying to actually use it first (seeing as I didn't buy a Q10 yet...and now I'm thinking I may not want to....a "pre-release program"...seems mis-leading especially since they advertise the unit to be XP compatible already!).....I apologize

No problem. It has gotten to the point where I think a lot of people would hesitate to recommend Aardvark because of their lack of drvier support. Tech support has generally been pretty quick to respond to my questions, but the fact that in 2002 the company still hasn't released a Windows 2000 driver is a VERY bad sign.

I've been very happy with my Direct Pro LX6, but I would possibly hesitate to recommend the company simply because of this issue, whereas in the past I would recommend Aardvark without a second thought. :(

Aardvark Pre Release for XP/2K

Hello,

We have a new driver available for XP and 2000 called "Pre Release". You can sign up for this driver on our new website www.aardvarkaudio.com. Go to the products page, then click on downloads. This will take you to a form that you must complete in order to be eligible to receive the driver.

The Pre Release will be available on a limited basis, for now until we can be certain that it will work for everybody.

You will then be notified by email from the driver team with directions to download the Pre Release driver. There will be some specific instructions that you will need to follow if you have installed a previous beta driver on your system.

Initial reports on the Pre Release driver have been very good, though more testing will be needed before it is an official release.

The old website, www.aardvark-pro.com will soon be replaced by the new one www.aardvarkaudio.com once we finish up some graphics work on it. Its going to be a very user-friendly website when its completed.

We have put much effort into solving the driver installation issues that some of you have experienced. Our efforts appear to be paying off with the Pre Release, and I encourage any of you that had installation issues with the previous betas to fill out that form on the new website.

Id like to apologize for the delays in getting this issue fixed. There are valid reasons for delays, which unfortunately arose unexpectedly. We do care very much about supporting our customers with updated drivers that work.

If you have any questions regarding XP, 2K, WDM status feel free to email me at thomas@aardvark-pro.com.

Thanks,

Thomas Adler

Thomas....I'm sure glad to see you make a post on this and offer some information.....BUT from reading your post I'm still left wondering if I should purchase the Q10....if I buy the unit will I be "eligible to receive the driver" seeing as it's "available on a limited basis"?

On another note.... I read on an "old" thread that WDM drivers are being "written"....is that still progressing or are those the drivers that are being offered on an eligilble/limited/test basis?
