I ve been an aardvark direct pro 24/96 user for two years. I used to use it with my old p3 733 with 256 133mhz ram on asus 815 mb. I worked great under win98 and than under w2k with new drivers. PCI bus efficiency was at least 90%. Comp almost never crashed no matter what prog I used - cubase vst32m sx or gigastudio.
Recently I switched to Athlon 1.8 with 512 2700ram on asus a7v with no raid. I turned off coms, lpts so as to have enough irqs. I installed w2k as standard pc with almost no shared irqs. Direct pro on the 4th irq.

the problem is that my PCI bus efficiency is only 53% whcih rises to 60% sometimes didn't know why. I switched pci buses and it is all the same. I chose the best (4th pci bus) which isn't shared according to manual.
I tried gigapiano on gigastudio in win98 and the same piano imported to halion under cubase sx in w2k (service pack 3) and the problems occurs in both. The problem is that the comp hungs after playing a while giving high never ending noise which forces me to restart the comp.
there is no problem with playing audio files and the system is rather stable (cubase sx 1.02)
Do you know how to solve this problem which puts me down?
I whould really appreciate your help.
