Hallo everyone,

I’ve just bought Aardvark 24/96 and I have some problems with it:

The 4th channel is not working properly, it outputs a sound like FM radio? WHY? Even when I connect a microphone to it, the FM like sound is still there!!! Any idea?

When I record on one channel say (channel 1), and use cool edit pro; it records a single channel only (usually right channel) is there a way to make it record stereo?

is there a way to setup the patch bay to hear all the inputs(1-4) and the play back channels(1-4)?

Seek your help

Did you download the most recent drivers?
As to the specific problem of the FM frequency, I'm not sure...but make sure that there are no grounding problems in your cabling.

If you want to record in stereo, you'll have to utilize two channels in the Aardvark to make this happen. If you just want to monitor the mix in both speakers, there's a panning slider at the bottom of the Direct Pro Manager console...put that to the middle.

As to the last question...not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but the default setting let's you monitor everything. Hope this helps.

I did install the latest drivers from thier website. what I am getting is actually noise that ressemble that of an FM radio station.
i am getting it even when the mixer is not connected to anything !
Thanks for your help

Try unpluging/pluging your cable at both ends (box/soundcard)several times then plug it all back in good and see if you'r sound problem is gone...When I first bought my Aardvark Q10,I could only get sound from 2 out of 8 inputs...to make a long story short... I did that and now it works fine...good luck.

hmm...just read you'r post again..are you saying you'r picking up a radio station or it's static or what..?? I had a problem with picking up a Mexican radio station on my guitar amp once..called the place where I bought it and the guy told me that if you have a bad ground in you'r house wiring(and I do), it can cause that. I would still try the cable trick and try pluging you'r system in another outlet...again..good luck.

It's not an actual radio station, it's just a noise that resemble that of FM radio. I will try to disconnect the cable and reconnect it to see if that works.

Appriciate your help

can i buy a new computer 15pin cable and use it instead of the one i had?
or that might damage my card?

Especially if you just bought it I would call Aardvark's service department. I have a Q10 and called them on a couple of occasions. They were very helpful. You can also send them an e-mail, but if you call you can talk to someone pretty much immediately.

Agreed. Their customer service is top notch...they actually return calls before the end of the day! :D My phantom power was defective, and they fixed it for free...I just had to pay for the shipping.
