Hello my friends, I got a question!

I just got an Aardvark 24/96 ( the box, the cable and the PCI card ), and I would love to use it, but something is not working...

I downloaded the drivers for Win XP, installed, but the breakout box don't light up, and it does not record anything. The control panel does recognize the card, so I'm thinking that the problem is with the breakout box. I'm think I will try to open it and see whats wrong.

Any tips? Can the card be the problem, not feeding the box, even thou the computer recognize it to intall the drivers?

Thank you!

It's been almost 8 yr. since I played with this and while the last drivers for Aardvark 24/96 (which I think were 7.13) were supposed to work with MS NT core (i.e. XP) I never had much success. With initial XP install I could record, had trouble with playback but mostly the drivers, in conjunction with other elements were unstable. I tried several variations on earlier drivers but certainly by XP2 simply gave up and installed the Aardvark on a Win98SE box where it remained doing light and gradually less & less duty until about 2007

Not even the link to the old Aardvark support group is active anymore

(I think I could still locate a copy of the 7.13 drivers if you do not have that version. As I remember different systems had different success with different versions)

Thank you oretez,
About the drivers, I do have the last available drivers, but it doesn't seem to be a driver problem in my case, because the box dont even light up. Maybe it's a hardware problem. I dismounted the box and didn't founded any visible problem. I wanted to use this box preamps to record, they are class A preamps.
I think that even if the drivers are not working, this box should light up, no?

Thanks Tom,
I downloaded the lastest drivers, but still the box doesn't light up...

Just double check that the PCI card is properly seated, many years ago I had a Layla with a PCI card and for some reason it used to move slightly every now and then and stop working, It seem that the PC had a slightly out of square case where the cards were screwed to the back and when tightened up the opposite end of the card would pop out and loose contact.

Alan.
