anyone out there using reaper with the motu 8pre?
can you tell me how to configure the drivers in reaper so i don't get loud staticy noise through the headphone outs on the interface at all times while reaper is open?

thanks in advance.

ok, so the loud farting noise is not just when reaper is open, but any time the 64-bit motu drivers are switched on, so it's not exclusively a problem with reaper, it's maybe the way the drivers are configured??

have you updated the most recent driver for the 8pre

I run an 8pre with Reaper, but I'm using 32-bit XP (great OS).
So as 7 updates you might need to check back with motu. You might have to keep doing this till 7 stabilises.

yeah i'm assuming it's the most recent. i just downloaded it from the motu site and it claims to be the proper driver for win 7/64.

Fat_fleet, I have the same problem with my Motu 8pre. I ended up making a dual-boot system with WinXP 32-bit for my recording needs.

I don't think it's Reapers fault. It's more likely that the 8Pre doesn't like Win7 yet, or if it doesn't support 64-bit windows in some way (if anyone uses any other 64-bit systems, please chime in).

I tried contacting MOTU too, but they didn't have any solution to the problem yet..

problem solved.
if anyone else has the same problem, try switching IEEE 1394 controller to the Legacy controller in the Device Manager.
worked for me.

Ah! That would do it. I had to do that for my Presonus Firepod before they released their Win7 drivers last month.

Glad to hear you got it working!
