Sorry about the two failed posts... I'm having little luck here.

Moderator, if you'd like, please remove my two previous blank posts.

As for the topic at hand, I'm having a lot of trouble with clicks and pops while recording on my DAW. My system is a Sony Vaio, with the following specs:

P4 1.5Ghz
Windows XP Home
256MB PC133 RAM
60 GB HD (Maxtor, 5400 rpm)
Event EZBus used as a USB audio interface (2in, 2out, full duplex)

I'm trying to record at 16bit, 44.1khz. Pops and clicks don't seem to be related to the number of tracks in a project, as I get similar quantities on the first track as I do the 8th track.

I've narrowed it down to recording. I can playback imported (clean) .wav files without any problems. I've played with the latency slider and # of buffers a lot, to no avail. I've moved the I/O buffer from 16 to 2032, with no apparent difference (at 8, it did get worse).

I read in another post that you need to re-run Wave Profiler after every time you change any of these settings. I have run WP a few times, but not after every change. I'll try this tonight

I've been suspecting that the Hard Drive just can't keep up, but was hoping that someone else might suggest some things to try. Thanks!!!

I forgot to mention that I'm running Cakewalk 9, not Sonar.

I'm also pretty sure that it's not a glitch within the EZBus, as I don't notice these pops when I'm monitoring the recording. Are there any issues with USB audio that need to be optimized, etc?
