A Walk in a rainforest

Hi People,

well this isn't a song but I thought I'd just share this recording cause I really like it. We went and holidayed in Queensland a month ago and I recorded this rainforest "soundscape" with my trusty minidisk. This is a temperate rainforest and you can hear heaps of different birds as well as my walking, a brush turkey scratching a nest up, and a cool motorbike cruising in the distance. The loud crow at the end of the recording is so typical of the Australian outback... maybe you won't get to go to Australia but close your eyes and your mighty close.

It was a great day and this soudscape really jogs the memory... even more than photo's. It also reminds me of the leaches !... as I was holding the tiny electret mics in my fingers I was paranoid a leach was going to fall down my neck ! ... they are so gross.

but seriously, a really cool recording....i looped it a few times, closed my eyes, and i was almost there....the closest ive been to that is The Rainforest Cafe in Orlando FL......

ive got some cool ideas for this...i think a really screaming guitar solo and im gonna borrow a 7 string to do a REALLY heavy riff and.....

sad aren't I ? Honestly I do have lots of real friends :) They just look at me strangely when they see what an audio freak I am ... at least here I'm in like minded company ! ;) .... oh and I do have pictures if your really interested.


Lt Bob: I've also got a really cool recording I made during my recent trip of a brass band playing some contemoary piece.... in a church in Heidelberg Germany ! ... I just walked in doing the tourist thing and they were practising. Unfortunately the recording's a bit distorted... but those catherdral reverbs sound brilliant on brass ! I can post it if you want.

that was cool.. the motorcycle almost sounded like a synth..
