Hello I am new here and new to all this recording stuff...I was wondering if there is a tutorial on how to make your own music CD from MP3s from the net....I am also wondering if once you record the CD will it actually play in any CD player...for instance a car stereo with a CD player on it...will it recognize it and start right away? If so how do I do this?? Oh yea I have adaptec software and I just downloaded winamp and I am not sure what to do with it yet...
Thanks in advance.

Yes, Cutting an "Audio CD" will cause any typical CD player to "auto play" your creation just like the big boys... Adaptec software will also do the trick... You'll need software that can either:

a) Translate MP3s to a "burnable format" like .aiff for Mac and .wav for Windows - Adaptec can burn these to play in a regular cd player...

OR

b) Something that can read MP3 files directly and translate the file to a CD burnable format on its own... I think some Adaptec software can do this, too...

Also, be aware, "Home burned" CDs will not play in DVD players (Home System Type)... It's because these players do not have the appropriate hardware to read a "CDRW" disk that is hand burned... All other players shoule work OK though...

Hope this helps...
