Gee wiz you guys.....get a room for Gods sake.LMAO!:D
KRAMER - I meant to tell you that I looked into it, and there's not a problem with using the samps that YOU FOUND FOR ME, since they were intra-NASA "loop" communications and not 3rd party (i.e., news broadcast) clips...so THANKS KRAMER FOR HELPING ME OUT WITH THE SAMPLES!!!!

now, I'm still working on the Reagan clip, LOL.

Oh, and I figured out how to get that audio extracted from the launch video, which is the same method that I used to get the Reagan clip at the end. You need to pay attention to this, because it's very technical. First, you read about 90% of the fucking help file so that you can eventually come to the conclusion that CoolEdit will not work with ".rm" files.

Then...(and this is the tricky part)...LOL. You borrow your 5 year old's FisherPrice tape recorder (you know the one, with the red and yellow plastic mic), and you turn up your monitors really loud while you play the video on your computer...and record it onto a cassette tape..LOL. that's what I did.

-LoFi Guy

LMAO!!!!!I was gonna suggest something like recording the sound with a mic stuck up to the speakers.LOL.

I actually downloaded a program a lonnngggggg time ago that would extract audio from Real Player files and convert them into wav.......I looked high and low for something like that the other night and came up empty.

It doesnt matter because FisherPrice rules!:D

Hey chris .. ever considered going into marketing ? ;)
this unfinished song has now had 2 threads and more posts than I care to count !

I can only dream of such fame ! :D

Perhaps I'm just riding this boat to boost my profile ?
then again maybe not

Have a good weekend everyone
don't do anything spectacular while I'm away ;)

Cheers

blah, blah, blah.... Dry vox are a result of me losing some presets and running out of time, so I just started over from scratch and kinda' never left there...LOL.

well save this setting for sure. it sounds very good. you can name the preset 'erichenryuslikesitthiswaybuteveryoneelseincludingmyselfcantstandit'

It all fit except the last letter, so I called it "VOX 1" instead...LOL

Hey Mr. Harris, I checked this out again. Very good stuff. Since only you and I ( and Heidi) know how you did this, I will tell the others:

Christopher is pretty damn clever. He basically spliced up a cello part from a different tune, in a different tempo, and it actually works.

If you want Heidi to play on any of your stuff, all you need to do is ask. We basically are doing sessions every two weeks, and she is a big fan of " December", so she can play on any song you like. She doesnt improvise, so I write parts for her. My cheap-ass mic actually sounds a lot better on her cello then it does on my megabucks fiddle.

I will send you some fiddle tracks tonight. I have some good ones, and I have some time off today, so I might try to do a few more.

PS, send me an email, I lost the download " Instructions " for your site. I think I recall most of it, but I am not sure how many at the end, if you get my drift.

I sent Heidi this tune, I am sure she will be very happy with what you have done

Damn Chris, that no sleep thing is paying off. You're doing shit that others only dream of doing in home recording.:D

If you cut that out of another tune I am VERY impresed.

Very impressive Mr.Harris!!

See what heights you can reach since you dumped that Jamal guy! :D :D

Very clean and precise.

Touching!

Hats off my man.........

LOL...more like "nightmare." It took about 7 hours. But the string sounds on my Alesis are just...well...hrm. Anyway, thanks. Anybody can do it if they have a track that sounds as perfect as the one I was working with. I'm REALLY looking forward to mixing it with the song that it was intended for. Wow, that's 2 sentences in a row that I ended with prepositions. Do you still like me??? lmao.

DavidK - The fox is in the henhouse, and the eagle has landed....over. :D :D
Thanks for stopping by again.

jr#97 - you rule. Now leave me alone.

jcmm - Quit busting my chops, dammit... :D :D - Thanks a ton.

Very very nice. Don't have anything to say other than that. I would maybe change a few words around in the lyrics here and there ;) but they are good the way they are too.

Since it seems there will be another version with more collaborators forthcoming I will wait to drag this to the keepers folder. Although I'm not getting rid of it as this is very good and I may end up saving both versions.

I would love to get that guitar sound. Don't think it's gonna happen with my Ovation Celeb. :(

Great work...now get some damn sleep will ya!!! :D

Thanks for listening, man. I swear, the onslaught of tunes will slow for a bit after this round...lol.

And hell yes you can get your Celeb to sound like that. No matter what ANYBODY says, the secret is to use some ridiculous amount of compression with a pretty long attack...(like 100ms). Squish the shit out of it. That's what the big boys do, and I think acoustics on the radio sound FABULOUS, and so do you...so just mash the living crap out of it and sit back while people worship your acoustic tone. Hasn't worked for me, but you're not as big a jerk as I am.

Interesting. I think the cello and the spliced in voiceovers add a dimension that is very nice.

"Howdy," neighbor. And yeah, that's my favorite part...the break and the outro. Anywhere where I'm not singing, LOL.

Welcome and stuff.
