theron - I like your post, because of the way it makes me feel.

I'm totally sick of me, personally, but I never get tired of hearing from you, so thanks.
jake-owa - Well thanks, man. You're very PC, tonight, because I think that's the nicest way anybody's ever told me that a vocal sounds edited...LOL. This one does for sure... I hate it when people blame stuff on their gear/computer, but I'll do it anyway. My presets and channel notepad got erased from when I did the first vocal track, so I had to try to remember what verbs and EQ's were used. That was useless, so I just tried to make them sound more similar. That was useless, so I pretty much just ditched most of the verbs and EQ's, lol. Thanks for taking the time, man.
Toki987 - I consider a salute from you an honor...thanks.
dres - the line's stayin...LOL. I don't think it's the line so much as the way I sang it. If I hadn't lost the vocal track, I would have taken another run at it, but I agree...it sticks out now. A little literalism may not be a bad thing. I liked chris' idea b/c it was kinda' literal and figurative at the same time ... Just be grateful that "explosion" is harder to rhyme.
David Just in case you didn't see it, I owe you some listens, and I'm looking forward to it. Almost caught up at the old saltmine. YOU? COUNTRY??? Can't wait. As far as who did what, Dres PM'd me with the idea of getting together on some kind of a honorary tune...Even in Australia, they apparently know about Texas...LOL. Anyway, the idea was for me to take a crack at some lyrics and melody first. I do the guitars and maybe backups, dres does the bass, percussion, and lead vocal, and anything else he wants to throw on top. Then, oddly...while I was working on it, I got a call from somebody here to write a tune about the event for a slideshow type presentation, but they needed it by today. Sooooo...everything played on here is pretty much me, 'cept for that cool cello...more on that in response to DavidK. I KNOW YOU DIDN'T CARE THIS MUCH, BUT I TYPE PRETTY FAST, SO THANKS!!!
erichenryus - kick-ass on the DSL. You'll enjoy it. I see DavidK covered the cello question. I'll tell you, it was a piece of work to take the cello tracks from a different song and try to make them "fit," and I was really nervous about how it would be received...Good thing all my tunes sound exactly the same, LOL...musical parts are interchangeable that way.

- As for the vocal, I personally can't wait to hear what Dres comes up with. The whole thing was his idea in the first place. The idea from the beginning was that he would sing it, and let's face it...some people just sing better than others, and he's one of them. Dry vox are a result of me losing some presets and running out of time, so I just started over from scratch and kinda' never left there...LOL.
WATYF - Yup... I'm not everybody's cup of tea when it comes to the tunesmithing for sure. Thanks for checking it out. Oh, and I hope you don't think I deleted the other thread b/c of anything you said, man. It was my intention from the get-go, and I'm sorry if it pissed you off.
DAVIDK - I'll admit it now...this whole post was a big trap set for you, LOL. I was hoping you'd hear it and say something like, "needs a fukkin' lectric fiddle." I don't know what a POD is, but if it'll result in you playing on another one of my tunes, consider it done... email me about it. I'm posting extra for you, because what you said really meant a lot to me. I'll tell you this, too...I was MORTIFIED about what you might think of the cello parts. The tunes are sort of similar in terms of BPM, but they're in different keys. I didn't pitch shift or anything, I just had to reverse a lot of the runs, which was not easy, but that cello sounds SOOOOooo great. I have to thank her personally somehow. And I appreciate the December tracks whenever you can...doesn't have to be tomorrow. Life happens sometimes.

Thanks again.
I'M NOT DELETING THE THREAD.
