Hi,

Could someone listen to a song of mine and tell me what I should change about the mixing and mastering? I know it needs improvements so any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

I suck at mixing, but I'd say it needs a fatter bass. Like maybe a lower end instrument, to double the kick line or something. Thats about all I can think of

Thanks JFogarty. I'll guess your right, and I will use your comment in other songs of mine.

Any other suggestions someone?

Hmm, sounded a bit too "major key"-ish for me.... trance needs a "tougher" more minor-key-sound.

As for the mix... sounds kinda flat somehow... but I do like the reverb used, nice and spacious. It something w. that kickdrum though, which isn't quite kicking me the way I want to be kicked :) I just can't really put my finger on it though.

I think the track needs a little grit. Distort something, ever so sligtly. That always does the trick ;)

your bass and drum tracks need to be stereo-ized too... and give the drums some more fidelity...and some loooooow end oomph to kick ya in the chest. 50hz or so...
basically, I would ditch all the mono tracks, replace with stereo, and watch how you place things. This is especially evident in the beginning.. the song hits you and is ALL mono. Some more ear candy would help, and your snare rolls (and hits too) have no high end frequencies to them.

tune works, but for this kind of music, I would think you'd want/need top notch fidelity. Your on the way. The one main synth lead line is by far the best sounding...the first one to come in..where it is stereo, etc. Make the whole tune that way.

Ok thanks guys. I will going to use your comments in my next songs.
