At times we may get a cut on the finger....We may have a gig that night or want to do some recording....Heres how to overcome it....put some superglue over the cut and then playing will not be painfull etc this is what the great SRV would always do.

I've tried this and can't stand how it feels. But good tip in a pinch.

I have kept a bottle of super glue in my road kit for years for that purpose. I've had nasty ass cuts right on the tip of my finger and have been able to do 4 hour shows. It does work.

First gig I ever played, slammed my hand in a car door 1 hour before the show. Ripped off 2 fingernails. Did the show then got drunk. Rock and Roll forever!

'Liquid Bandage' is safer and works just as well. Can't use it to reset a broken fingerboard nut, though!

"Liquid Bandage" is basically superglue with a little bit of Benzoconium HCl for an antiseptic and Lidocaine as a painkiller thrown into the mixture.
I keep a bottle in my misc. bag for gigging.
Of course if VP starts trolling this thread he'll probably recommend talcum powder as the cure. LOL

Believe me, there are some stupid questions. It's not very polite or PC to say it but it's foolhardy to pretend otherwise.

To the person asking the question he obviously doesn't know the answer to, how could it be said that its stupid? It may appear stupid to you as you know the answer...however, you could also ask a question and someone of greater ability to them it may be stupid but to you not so... As with everything in life and on this site like others we have to bear in my its "Just" our opinion...As the Aussies say opinions are just like a holes, everybody has one.

Just keep pickin and grinnin....Itsonlyme.

When those things happen you just can't stop laughing hey.??? ha ha.(Not) Well done for battling on...1st gig what a bummer.

Thats a better option for many I am sure however, as superglue was around first circa 1958 and liquid bandage circa 1965...that is probably why I used it and got used to it.....superglue is non-toxic nevertheless. much more care in applying it is needed though hence my opening comment.

Super glue was developed to glue wounds together on the battlefield so we're using it for its intended purpose.

He always put cocaine in his coffee too.

His Crown Royal, rather, so he could stillget high on stage. The problem was, while it worked, the coke also recrystalized in his stomach, and basically ripped the shit out of his stomach lining. This is why he was puking up blood towards the end before he got clean.

...well, ONE of the reasons anyway, lol.
