Shall we start again?

Your last post was actually nice and thoughtful. Perhaps you are not a troll and just don't know how to get out of the place that you are at. I'll give you the shadow of the doubt. Take that for what it is worth. It is an olive branch.
The folks who post on Analog only for the most part fall into a few types. There are the regulars like Beck, Dr Zee and Cjacek and Ghost who are very nice and very helpful people. Can't list them all. Look at how long they have been on the board and their rep points. They did not get those in the free rep thread. They got them by helping others and in general making good sense. I suspect their age average is somewhere in the late 40's and they have been recording since the 70's.
Then there are the newbies. For the most part they are learning the ropes and try hard to figure it out and cause no harm.
There is a smattering of wanderers who found their way in and don't add much or take much away.
Then there are the folks who come on over to to make a point. They appear to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder and tend to want to fight. They say that this deck is the best and any other companies product is crap. Or that digital is better and we don't know diddly. Or this that ot the other.
Which group do you want to be in?
From my view you've come in an asserted very strongly a number of things. You have stated them in a way that forces others into defense. When they respond with a countering point, well you know where that has gotten us. You have a right to your view of course. Share it in a constructive way.
Really it was like you walked into Carnegies and shouted Descutes ESB is so much better than Emu Bitter don't you people know the truth. Well, perhaps I've overstated it a bit. But then again it does take a lot to get the folks riled at you.
So what will it be? Want to debate the finer points of acoustics? I know of an other BBS for that. Want to start a brawl? Take it to the cave. But if you want to pick up a few insightful bits of analog lore and give out a few as well then post softly and read carefully.
