Another kick ass song. Can't comment on the mix due to being at work but I love the vibe and energy in the last two songs you've posted.

Oh, nice groove dude!

Very nice guitar playing! It even sounds like Hot Sauce would if I were on acid. :D

I can't make out a lot of the words...maybe too much verb on 'em. I'm probably missing some good humor. The guitar mix is excellent. Very nice tones and fantastic playing. Nice job!

Ya this jams!

damn!!

does the sauce help you sing that high & that well?

well done

Great guitar playing!
Wild song,it totally rocks!

Really cool production, heavy meatal guitars playing R&B,awsome!:D

I liked the ending chord,sweet resolution!:p

Cool stuff!

Excellent work Gonzo. This doesn't sound like an "at home" production.

I also had a little trouble making out some of the lyrics, but it took me forever to figure out "With the birds I share this lonely view" by the Chili Peppers too. Were some of those lines Cajun or French maybe?

Twist

As always Gonzo, great vai-ish shredding. My kind of stuff.

You should record something new. I already had this one along with all your others.

No real comments on the mix. The few seconds of silence at the beginning could be eliminated. (Unless there's something there that I'm missing when listening at low volume). Also, the fill at 1:02 is a bit hot and could be brought down.

Keep this stuff coming!

hey, thanks for listening !

phyl-
glad you got the spirit of the vibe.... i'd love to get a real drummer to give me the swing that i really wanted out of it... for me, it's just too straight....
hope you get a chance to crank it out of a real system... granted the mp3 makes it suck, but not as bad as computer speakers do!

SLuiCe-
hot sauce and acid, now there's a combination!
the lyric, well, maybe it's part the way i sing it.... and part the mix with the reverb or delay...... it seemed, from a sonic standpoint only, that the voice (which i think of as another instrument, not the "up-front and center" standard.....) sat well with it mixed back a little more, but i agree, with typical mixes, it's back a bit....

chrisharris-
ha, sing well........ not! but yes, the hot sauce kills the pain........;)

muzeman-
thanks for the compliments...... those guitars were played through an old mesa boogie, all miced with a 57, high volume, just the real deal.....

twist-
yeah, cajun.....
the hot sauce is called "Melange de la chauve-souris", which is hybrid french, to read sauce of the bat.
this was mixed on my 8 track through my home stereo..... before i got some real monitors..... maybe i should give it another shot?

thanks for listening, glad you liked it.....

Here's the lyric:
Bat’s Brew (Melange de la chauve-souris)

Bat flyin’ high overhead
In the heart of the walking dead
The fire breathes from it’s mouth
Melange de la chauve-souris

Hotter and hotter it will get,
No, it’s not ready, do not fret
Your journey will go far south
Melange de la chauve-souris

The moon is full, the water dark
Tree limbs evil, missing bark
Makes twisted fingers for the sky
In the bat’s brew you shall fry

Melange de la chauve-souris

If you partake of the brew
The Moon grows red in front of you
Just a drop is all you can do
Melange de la chauve-souris

Outstanding sir. Great chops on guitar. I wouldn't change a thing.

Great performance and tone!

You really captured your Mesa boogie very well. The song has a great groove and is very catchy, I really liked it. The voice had a little too much "air" to my taste, and the drums sound a bit electronic

A+ to the guitar playing.

I guess I need to get out more. Id sure like to pick up the buzz that that tune would give hearing it live. Punchy, tasteful, thick, and well organized.

Holy crap man, you mixed this on cheap monitors? My ears love the mix...quite talented.

JAKE

thanks a lot for listening people.....

track rat-
thanks for the complement.... i've been trying to work more on my bass playin' and my yodeling....
the guitar's the easy part.......

flapo1-
yeah, trying to capture the tone of my mesa is very important to me.... i don't spend a lot of time messing with it anymore, pretty much got it dialed down... but no shit, every time i set up, i change the positioning of the mics, and it always sounds different than the last time i did it... so i just try to go with it, and use it however it happens......
the drums, on the other hand, are from a little zoom 123 machine, all i can afford right now, i'd love to have a real drummer lay down parts on top of my stuff, just to have me go back and re-record everything on top of the real drums.....

chrisharris-
thanks for the complement, and for listening.....

toki987-
i'd love to do this live, with the right bunch of players that gets the GROOVE vibe, you know what i mean......?
i want it to be a lot more than what i can program into my little measly machine, in terms of power and groove and the sounds themselves.....
and for the punchy part...... i guess i'm still trying to figure out exactly how to master these things to get just that out of it...... usually, after i get it sounding "punchy", to me, it sounds a little distorted.... so i know i still have a lot to figure out....

jake-owa-
yeah, these were mixed on my infinity home stereo speakers, not really cheap, but not monitors either... it's tricky, cuz even though i know the sound, and a/b it against pro mixes, it still doesn't sound right on other people's systems...... that's why i just recently went out and bought my first pair of "cheap" monitors! ;)

HEY JAKE-

i went to guitar center and bought something on sale, the KRK Rokits, paired with a Hafler TA1100 amp......

i know that these monitors are limiting.....
i know that they don't have a very wide frequency response....
only go down to about 69hz.....

but it's still a step up from what i've been doing, and i was absolutely amazed at what detail i can make out now, but i'm having to completely re-learn how to eq and balance to this system....

and, it also lets me see how much a good set of monitors could really help, if i could only get some.......

nice guitar sound and playing..

scratch that, great playing! very 80's metal ish.. elements of 'Ratt' etc. I couldn't understand the words, but I was paying more attention to the playing.. Actually, I just realized it's in a different language.. Very nice recording..

this is the reason why I never tell people I'm a guitar player.. I always say, 'I play a little guitar'..

stuff good, ups thumb!

Ditto! :)
Why should I wear out my typing finger when Sam's already said it for me?

i passed on listening when i saw "swamp boogie"......

luckily, this doesnt resemble "swamp" or "boogie".....i hear the Ratt influence....also Dokken.....

gotta love the 80's.....gotta love this tune....well done!!!!
