My five month old daugher seems to like watching me play the guitar, so I wrote this song for her this weekend and got a few big smiles...it's the best audience I ever had!

I didn't spend much time on it, so maybe I'll do a nicer version later, but what do you guys think of this one?

Lol. I don't know why, but I wasn't expecting this. I think I was expecting something a little heavier. ;)

Very nice tones you got going on. Nice arrangement and playing too. And best of all, it probably won't make your daughter want to steal cars and date hoodlums. :p

Great job. :)

Very nice!
I know what you are talking about. My daughter is 18 months old.
Every evening around 8 a clock she takes her bottle and I take my guitar and we go to the bed room.
I play until she gets asleep. I wrote the song for her but I did not record it yet.

Yeah, I didn't expect that bro but it's awesome. Great song, I'm very happy for you dude. Family rocks.

Thanks alot guys.
I think it's funny that I suprised everybody....but I do indeed have a soft side. :p

Dude, there is just NO better reason to write than for your baby, eh? Wicked cool tune! Tim mentions that it's similar to some of my stuff; which I'll take as a compliment, but I ws going to say that it sounds like the kind of music I'd LIKE to write more like sometimes. Certainly, your guitar playing is lovely, even soaring in this piece. The section that started at about 2:05 really took my breath away!

(Not threadjacking, I promise, but my video of the joyful song I wrote for my daugher is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVhQxOEWsSA)

Kep writing for her; she found some beautiful music in you!!

Tim, NL5 - thanks very much for the listen and the comments.

Llarion, I appreciate your comments as well. You're so right about writing for your children. These are brand new emotions for me and creating this song was a very joyous and uplifting thing.
Thanks for posting your video. It was touching, and I can appreciate very well the love that went into it now that I am a father myself. ;)

Hey that's fantastic! The sound of the guitar and parts of the main lead remind me of Eric Johnson.

Great job sir.....

You got me! Very tasty lead work there! I want to do some bass playing for you sometime. Not that there was anything wrong with this bass, it's very well done. I just wanna jam with someone again! :(

Good stuff man!
I wish I had written a song for my daughter when she was a baby. She would have thought that was cool, now that she is 12 and playing the guitar herself.

Kids do seem to soften you or take the edge off you, whether you want them to or not. Savor every minute though man, because time flies....

It's never too late, man; and think how much it will inspire her own playing! Write one!!

I've already started re-recording this, because I want to get a more mellow sound for the clean rhythm guitar and spice up the drum "performance" just a little.

I'm also trying to decide if any other instrumentation would sound good in the mix - but I'm afraid I'd just be forcing it....we'll see.

Thanks again. ;)
