Very nice!

The song is good and so is the mix. I am no expert but I thought it sounded fine. I don't want to make you type alot of stuff but what is the core of your recording setup? The tune is catchy....have listened to it a few times.
Keep up the good work.

thanks a lot for listening. My recording setup is a joke. All the acoustics and vocals were recorded with a crappy condenser (AKGc3000) through a DMP3 preamp into an Audigy LS soundcard. Recorded and mixed in CoolEdit/Adobe Audition. I'm not sure how the drums were recorded, but all I used on them was a little compression on the overheads and some EQ on the snare. Internet collaborations are great for me because I don't have to have a hundred grand worth of equipment, lol. Thanks again for listening.

Hi there Mango -
I have tried to get to your website a couple of times, and no connection is made! Could you post the song on your nowhere radio site?

Nice tune Chris!! Not my genre( though I can appreciate a good tune man), but it reminds me of James Taylor. Maybe not what you were going for-guess you can take it as a compliment!!

I have not check it it out as far as mix cuz I'm listening mono, but balance is nice. I'll check it out on the mains soon- have the need to see(hear?) your
seasoned collabs.

Great song...

Nice. O'course I'm always up for a song about a car :)

Still pop up my NWR download of "Opel Manta" every now an again.

The recording is very well done especially considering the gear you listed!

VERY good considering the equipment you listed!!

Love the sound of the banjo in any song, other than that I would like to have seen the lyrics- Good, quality songwriting and recording

Thanks a lot for listening . . . This song's kinda' personal to me, so I appreciate the request for lyrics:

Old Yeller

Standin abandoned in my driveway
Up on blocks a sore to the eye
Always reminds me of the highways
I rode when I was a kid when dad would drive

We used to call Dad's car Old Yeller
With golden velour and a cracked windshield
And every time we begged him to sell her
He'd just gap the plugs, change the oil, and she'd be healed

CHORUS
We called her Old Yeller, mom begged him to sell her
But he never did tell her he would
B/c the 3rd engine's a charm, and the paint's still good
He kept a cigarette lit b/w the fingertips of his one hand on the wheel
Not many would try to do 105 in a gold Oldsmobile
She could run - but we just made fun

Cruise control and power windows
Neither one worked after '86
But they were just luxuries I suppose
Just about everything else, Dad could fix

Chorus

Now we live in an age where nothing lasts
And God forbid you be out of style
She's just been wasting away, since he passed
But I keep thinking she's good for a few more miles
We'd go, out past the turnoff to Hwy 31 with my
Little brother in the backseat, and me shotgun
At 110 I'd see a hint of a grin on his leathered, weathered face
We left the red and blues in the rear views like they were standing in place

ChristopherM & Tonio - I very much appreciate the listen and the comments. I'll be more than happy to return the favor if you have anything up you need an extra set of ears on.

Thanks again.

I'm bumping this because a very cool individual (Tom Diemer) recorded and sent me some pedal steel for the song. Same links if anybody cares.

Thanks
