I think this would be interesting to hear for those who have relatively flat mics.

I tried this cable on my AT 4033 mic and it sounded like I was using some high eq or something. It really brought out more sizzle. Now I understand why buck62s mp3s have so much cleanliness and detail-because he is using studio 1000 cable.

Anyhow, I tried this cable from BLUE and it really opens up the top on the mic, making it sound more detailed and sizzly.

I compared it against my former best cable and it is now on the 4033 permanently.

I dont think that anyone who has an already hyped mic should use this kind of cable. It will make a bad situation worse.

I recently got into B.L.U.E kiwi cable and it was cool on every mic I threw at it. It opens up the top end on mics that are totally flat like the AT3525. I also noticed an improvement on the upper midrange bet 3.5k and 4.5k like it was slightly compressed or just came through more. This all as compared to proco cable. I wouldnt say its harsh on mics with alot of top end like the NT2 ...it just conducts the high frequencies better with more detail, finer transients, maybe its like a 2.5dB boost on everything from 7k and up. Id rather have that there to cut than have to boost coarser transients with proco cable.
 
Whats the deal with the stuff? Is it just real high quality cable, or is there some kind of electronics in the ends or something? If its just high quality cable and makes an audible difference, then the price is definately really really really good. The studio 1000 is what, $100 for 15 feet? Shew...
 
By the way... is it blue? :)
Is it really heavy consistency, like good feeling quality, too? Thick? Good terminations?

Actually, I use Monster Prolink Performer 500 cables for the most part. All condenser mics and guitar cables are almost always Monsters.

I also use Blue 'Cranberry' cables in combination with the Monster Cables when I record other bands.
The Blue 'Cranberry' cables sound great when micing drums and amps with all the SM57's.
It's rare that I use the Blue cables for a vocal part, but I have on occaission, and I've had excellent results.

Blue makes a really good cable.
I highly recommend them.

I never knew that you had BLUE cable. What other secret steroids do you want to tell us about? :D

I agree about the cable on vocals. I assume that you are talking about the ntk? I will never use that cable with my blueberry again.Its too much of a good thing.
 
CyanJag, musicians friend is selling blue kiwi cable for $30. Same as the blueberry and cranberry.
 
Tubedude, blue cable comes in dif colors--blue, green and red I believe. I have a couple of green ones. Its kind of glassy and it says Blue every six inches or so. The ends are gold. Overall not as nifty looking as the mics. But better looking than your average cable. ;)
 
Thanks guys, I hope that price includes connectors and not just the raw cable.

Also, which one would be best for my situation; C-1 going to a Presonus Blue Tube to a dbx 266xl compressor to a Tascam 788.

And, does anyone make really good digital cable? Sound Forge 5.0 gets occasional hiccups on 24 bit data from the 788.

Its probably not the cable unless its too long... its more likely clock. If you dont have inputs on both devices and an outboard clock, you might be outta luck.
