laptop!
LOL
well, i suppose there's folks out there that carry laptops a lot, and that's what they use.
me, i'd at least plug in some ear buds!
but that's why i'm partially brain damaged, i'm sure, cranked tunes.

captainbeyond
thanks for checking it out!
i used no compression on the master buss, any compression came from the mastering house (falcon eddy studios)...... but i like the level of compression, makes it more old school, which i prefer....

jeff
it DOES have some funk in it!
glad you picked up on that.....thanks for listening.

sounds cool! some tracks sound like they are more distant, e.g. the drums (snare). i would like to have them more in-face. but very good performance! i like it :)

The lead guitar is so clean and thick all at the same time, I don't think it should be turned down. That was a fun listen man.

The influences of this track are so prominent its quite amazing! let me guess van halen/steve vai/maybe dream T a bit?
the guitars sound sick. this is the first track on here that ive listened to start to end. really quite an exceptional job! well done

ay karumba!
hehe, thanks for listening
i'm always on the fence with drum mixes..
i love loud drum mixes... but on this one, it just didnt' seem to work.
it was as if bringing the drums up louder, masked everything i wanted in the guitar and vocal sound.
i'll keep experimenting...

captain ego
yes, thick but clean.
well, it's partly a gain thing, partly the guitar (a '84 carvin DC200 koa, with a duncan custom custom in the bridge, it's a slightly hotter version of a PAF and has great clarity with the koa) and amp combo, an old boogie.
appreciate the comment

skuthepoo
you know, i dig all those guys you mention, but none are direct influences...
my direct influences are jeff beck, ritchie blackmore, brian may, hendrix, page, john goodsall and holdsworth.
i'm glad your digging this particular style all the same, tho, thanks for checking it out.

macle
thanks man!
glad it sounds analog, i try to mix it with that more rounded tone, but it's all digital.
the mics amps cabs and preamps are all analog tho....

Just the odd timing glitch "unless you meant it !" But just absolutely fantastic otherwise. Second time today I'll be setting fire to my guitar (and not in a good way !)

I'll get my coat....

Very cool song! Loved the listen. As stated above, could maybe have a little more on the low end, but the guitar and vocals sound amazing, loved every second!

jon nolan

thanks for listening man...

i'm unaware of any timing glitches, where are you hearing it?
and do NOT set fire to your guitar!!
LOL

dlowmoney
thanks for checking it out, i appreciate it

on a full range playback system, there seems to be plenty of low end.
i guess it's just a subjective thing, i hate boomy or muddy low end, so i'm extra careful..
usually, it's a lot easier to turn the bass up, than it is to roll it off...

Nice riffage. I like the guitar tones a lot. Drums are a little flat sounding and just a touch too far back me. Vocals are great, kind of a Jane's vibe. Cool tune, really well put together

Fucking fantastic rock... understated and overstated in all the right places.

bulls hit
thanks for listening, glad you dig it.

tobe
appreciate the kind words.
finding the way to under and overdo stuff...
that's rock!
LOL
