Ok, here goes.
First, my setup is: PC with Cubase LE4/ZOOM S2T interface/Radikal Technologies SAC 2.2 control surface.
My problem is I'm having trouble figuring out how to control my drum machine via midi. The SAC 2.2 uses USB for midi control of the DAW yet has IN/OUT/THRU standard midi connections as a carryover from the 2K. If I understand it correctly these midi ports can be used independent of the USB port. I would think the SAC 2.2 would be able to sent control messages directly from the OUT port but I have not been able to make that happen.
I also have an M-Audio 24/96 card installed which also has midi IN/OUT. I've tried every possible midi connection I can think of to no avail.
I like to track with a generic drum pattern & then go back & program my final drum tracks & lay them down last but without the ability to send control messages to my drum machine that's out!
Any ideas......Anyone?
