A psychedelic love song

I'd like you to listen to this mix and pick it apart for me. I know you can pick apart the singing and playing, but I'm more worried about the mix! I've used my strat iwth a slide for the solo, lots of distortion on everything but the bass guitar.

Be as harsh as you like, I'm old.

Very interesting. I really like the trashy drums (how were they done?) and the guitar sounds.

As soon as you mention psychedelic and throwing distortion on everything, it becomes difficult to evaluate objectively as pretty much anything goes. Having said that I thought your voice came out a bit boomy and, although it's hard to tell for sure with all of the effects, it seems like it would benefit from some cuts in lo-mids to brighten it up a little. The bass guitar was cool, but could maybe use a little more attack or bite or something to bring it forward without raising the level.

I really like the feel of it and the idea, but I think you could use another part in there somewhere or some more elements added to prolong interest, as it kind of dragged a bit for me despite being relatively short. Thanks for sharing!

I had downloaded the eval version of Fabfilter's Saturn, which is enormously addictive, and sadly expired. This plug gave me the idea for the song: I used (perhaps abused) it on drums, vox and guitar. You're right, in that there should have been another element introduced to complete the song, but none ever came to mind = unfortunately, I'm a one man band.

Thanks for the ideas on my vocals and bass, I really appreciate it.
