SnakeDog5050

2 headed snake witha rake
Hey everyone... this is an instrumental theme song I wrote based on a pretty wild book I wrote up in Canadian forests last summer. I tried to capture that "forest feel" & recorded a few versions of this song. This is one of the demos... it plays with bits and pieces of the main melodies for the first half then goes all out with main melodies in the last half...

"The Mystery of The Double Dagger"

(Sorry about all that clipping, I'll fix that update the file soon & let u know)

I'm getting a new mic in the mail next week, so I'd like to try a new version of this song with lyrics/real acoustic guitar so any suggestions on this version are appreciated... thanks ;)

P.S. this song comes with my first attempt at digital artwork (on the soundclick link)

Yeah, go soundclick! You the man :D

This song is a nightmare to mix, but with all of soundclick's action I was able to update the file a few times... like panning instruments I spaced on panning for some reason... & other stuff

& my bad for meantioning my artwork that goes with the song that happens to appear so small on that soundclick page you need a magnifying glass to see it... here's a bigger one (ch ch ch out the dawg :D ... my guitar's by the tree too)

Sweet tune dude....I really dig this. Has the surf feel, but could fit very well to a Spaghetti western also....And I dig those things. The theme from a Spacey Western.....Cool.

Realy dig this man. Really cool vibe.
Ed

Man those first notes on you guitar opening reminds me of Apache by the shaddows.

This is spacey, and cool...
are you into Hawkwind?

its really atmospheric as well...

Well I think I`m surfing tommorow, the water is probbaly at 5-8 degrees C` :D

But you`ve got a very nice tune here, maybe it needs a few fixes here and there but generally good, preformance and recording...
I`m listening at some horriffic speakers so I might not be hearing this track at a perfect setting, but I think the bass drum need to come up a tad.

cheers

Here boy, here boy!!!

That dog just wont turn around, did some one throw a stick in the water :D

I` reffering to the pic, not you SnakeDOG or you DOGman :D

Hey guys, thanks so much for listening :) It's cool to hear that you like this because this is a song I didn't have a clue to how other people would react to. I really like it but wasn't sure if it was too out there or random for other people to enjoy.

Haha, I was talking about the whole "forest" thing with this song... here's a quote from me I dug up from a song I posted a few weeks ago... "It's funny, I try all different themes/moods for my music, but usually always get the "beachy" comment. That's cool though, that just must be the Snakedog style"

It's so true, I should just claim all songs I write are about the ocean or surfing (I've never even been surfing yet    )

And Naka, I haven't heard of Hawkwind or Apache by the shadows... I'll check that out though cause I'm curious. I'll check out that bass drum too.

& Dogman... I played a 2 minute demo of this song for some people over a year ago and they said it had a neat spegetti western feel. After all the growing & changing this song went through over the last year I totally forgot about that, but the song must have kept that feel over all that :D

Well hey guys, thanks again for listening & commenting, I really appreciate it. I'm just taking a guess that not many people are too into progressive instrumentals, so it's cool to hear some people like it :D

:D Haha, good you cleared that up... I was thinking hmm... me or DOGman, we're both dogs, AND what does that mean????

Hawkwind....Isn't that a band Lemmy was in at one time??

Snakedog, very good piece of work here. I agree with Ed about the Spaghetti western thing. I expected to see Clint and Eli Wallach shooting it out.
I just got DSL, so can listen to more music. Seems like there is an abundance of activity in here.
Dig the guitars, and the whole "feeling" of the track.

Hey thanks very much :)

Ha, I like the sound of your guys Spagetti western comments and see why when I listen to it. So I updated the soundclick description a bit...

"A progressive instrumental spagetti western by the sea and through the forest. Based on a story I wrote set in the early 1800s. Enjoy the ride :) "

But hey, the story I wrote that this song is about was actually set in the 1800s and has a lot of people who have swords/guns and travel around sea/forest, & have "showdowns"... so I'm not completely changing this stuff ;)

Bling bling bling, I think he quit\got sacked after being obtained by canadian customs for some time, he was lucky not spending years in yail for brining loads of acid\and ect through customs.

after that I think he Did some more drugs and formed motorhead :)

Go Canadian customs!!! :D

& go bling bling!

This is cool.

Definitely hearing the spagetti western and surf elements to this stuff. Very nice.

It's funny how you can end up with a sort of 'sound' without even trying. I don't really listen to what I consider 'pop' music, or listen to 'pop' radio stations, and yet many people consider the music of Supercreep and myself to be poppy!

So maybe you shouldn't ever go surfing!!!! What would happen to your music then? :D

Anyhow, nice job.

Like the intro guitar/effect once the drum kicks in I get the surf vibe...you have a unique style in your playing/songwriting and thats real cool!I like this...nice job!
