Forgot to mention- the song doesn't actually start that way, but I'm still working on the opening. :)

Wow. Amazing. My kind of music, what stuff did you use becuase I am trying to get this exact sound. Everything sounds crystal clear really great job, the low end is probably my favorite part what kind of bass does your bass player have?

edit: honestly what is your setup. where do you record and what equipment do you use? the sound is amazing. is your room treated? do you have pictures of your studio?

Very nice. Clean, balanced, in tune. Very good work, top notch. :)

great tune, very ben folds,
i could use a touch more vocal in a few spots, just when it gets real quiet.
I actually like that intro too. not sure what else you'd want to do with it.
great track!

Thanks heaps for your comments! We recorded this in 3 places- the drums were recorded at York St (a big NZ recording studio), most other tracks were at The Lab, and additional tracks and mixing took place at my home studio.

Bassist has a Musicman Stingray (can't remember what year it is- great bass though), recorded DI through a SansAmp. Used 3 or 4 electric guitars on the track- A Fender Tele, Gretsch of some description (studios guitar), Washburn Chicago series, and a Les Paul. Nomad 55 amp, captured with Shure SM57 up close, and a Neumann U67 for the room sound. Vocals were with the U67 as well, and we used a AKG C12A for the nylon string guitar. Can't remember any of the drum mics as we tracked 10 songs for our album around 2 years ago... we've only just started recording other tracks.

Thanks to everyone else for their comments as well- any other suggestions to improve the mix?

Cheers!

Nice work. This is a very clean and natural sounding mix. The guitar solo reminds me of Trey from Phish...both the tone and the style. I am humbled...

Thanks heaps :)

Don't know Phish too well, but I like what I've heard of them, so thanks.

Any more comments on the mix?

Enjoyed that. A few cool and unexpected changes in there. Keep sharing it,..bummed that I couldn't hear the rest of your song.

Cheers :) Yeah, something strange happened with Soundclick on that one, I'll reupload it tomorrow.
