does anybody know where i could post either lyrics or mp3's of some of my songs to get some idea of what people think

Are you stoned or just stupid?

Oh, I get it, this is a joke.

Good one.

If not here...then where?

Hi,
I will assume that you are refering to another site.
The most active lyric board that I have found has been at Just Plain Folks.
The members critique each other. The traffic is tremendous.
It seems to be geared mostly towards country music but, all genres are accepted.
One other place that you can try would be TONOS.
TONOS does have a songwriting forum but, is not that active.
Both sites offer other Forums of discussion concerning music and collaboration. Both are pretty cool.
I hope this helps.

you don't have to be an ass, tdukex. I don't believe that this was a stupid question. I know that I can post stuff on this site but what I was referring to was other sites or workshops. And the fact that you would overreact and put something childish and ignorant like your post on this site, makes you the joke. If you want to talk like that go to the yahoo teen chat room.

Sorry Hubb, I couldn't resist.

My response may have been childish and assholish, but it was neither an overreaction nor ignorant. An overreaction would require me to have an emotional investment in the subject, which I don't. Ignorance would require me to be unknowledgable about the subject, but I knew what you were unsuccesfully attempting to ask. Even joro had to make an assumption about what you were asking. I was just trying to humor myself and in a sarcastic way inform you that you really should be more specific with your questions. Sorry if I upset you. I actually thought you might appreciate my humor. But alas, no.

BTW, if you really think you are going to frequent this BBS and not encounter childishness, assholes, vulgarities, and other assorted boorish misbehaviors, you are practicing naivete and will probably be offended often. Proceed with caution.

Please don't stay mad at me. I was only joking.

I'm going over to the teen chat room at yahoo now. :D

it's cool, i just couldn't let it go without voicing my opinion on the matter.

The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) has a $100 annual membership fee and has a song evaluation service.

http://www.nashvillesongwriters.com/

From their website:

"To get feedback on your material from a professional writer, you could take advantage of our Song Evaluation Service. Our Song Evaluation Service is part of your membership (no additional charge), and it works like this:

We have a group of professional writers that work with our organization. You send in one of your songs cued up with a typed lyric sheet and your song is assigned to one of the evaluators. Put your song on a long tape - like 15 or 30 minutes to a side. The Pro writer listens to your song, hits play/record on the boombox, and talks back to you on the back end of your cassette (hence the necessity of the long cassette).

You provide us with a return, bubble packed envelope with the correct postage. We can just pop it back in the mail to you. Turn around time is 3-5 weeks. So theoretically, you could get about 8-12 evaluations per year for your membership. This is one of NSAI's most popular services."

This may not be what you are looking for, but it is something I'm thinking about trying, Good luck.
