If you are like me and you have a total of 10 inputs but only use 2 at any given time, then this might come in handy.
I just got this from a mixing engineer from britain. I dont know why I did not think of it earlier.
Simply "put a cd player in the loop" i.e plug a cd player to an unused(stereo: left and right) input and put your favorite references in it. All you have to do while mixing is mute the output from your multitrack software and unmute the inputs from the cd player. That way you can see instantly if you are way off base or right on target.
Now, if I could only find a way to monitor in mono.
