Normally I'm a country songwriter, but last week out pops a classic gloom and doom metal tune called "Skydown".
Please take a listen and tell me what you think, mix-wise, song-wise, performance-wise, whatever...

The guitar sounds a little 'scratchy' (not really sure how to word what I mean) when it's solo'd (around the 30 second mark), it just seems a little thin to be standing on its own. Other than that I like it though, there's some interesting bass going on underneath all that. Nice and simple, very understated. Bear in mind that I'm listening through crappy laptop speakers, so the tinnyness in the guitars I'm hearing could be coming from there.
