Wow, nice sound. My only quibble would be that the bass sounds a bit too loud during that opening solo. I know it's a solo and therefore is maybe more prominent than normal, but I still think it could come down a couple db.

Damn, nice cymbol work... :)

Thanks for listening Chris. This was a quickie 6 hour project I jerked together just to see how tracking individual parts in Cool Edit Pro would turn out. (I used to dump finished stereo sequences in my sound card until recently) My first real use of compression on bass and drum parts as well. A learning experience by all accounts and my, was it fun. Appreciated your observations as they are quite helpful, sir! :)
Regards, Lee.

SOUND DIAGNOSIS,
Nice sound. Nice piece of work. Slippery little devil runs all over element city. Good fun being fooled when I thought I knew which way it would go.

"Slippery little devil runs all over element city". Whoa, that sounds like a statement from a lyricist for sure! Thanks for listening, man! All the best, Lee.

P.S. Chris, if you're still there, I jacked down the bass about 2 db and like the result! Thanks dude, a most helpful, insightful observation! (I am still getting used to these Yorkville YSM1P's monitors I purchased a few months ago)

This is a damn nice piece of work! Well done. I have no mix comments at all.

Sounds real strong and big (I love production!)

The cymbals sound like there is a bit too much sibilance on my end...just a tad.

Very nicely played piece. Would like to hear the bass drum come up a tad in the mix. It is kind of buried -- imho --

I like the pads you are using. They all sound natural.

Nice job overall!

:D

The bassss was fixed by the time I listened and I certainly wouldn't pick on This mix.
WhaT A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF MUSIC.
OOPs caplock:)
Glad I decided to finally listen

OMG. I am so glad you all took the time to listen to this thing-a-ma-bob and the kind words don't hurt either. I actually dropped the bass in the whole piece, not the beginning as Chris initially suggested. Just plain didn't read the first sentence of his post. My bad. My estupido. :) I'll probably do that as well after listening again.

Boydrj: I hear what you are referring to. I am going to review. Thanks!!!!

Bdbdbuck: Thanks for not busting my balls......Just kidding...ROFL!!! :D :D :D

HevyD: I am also glad you finally gave it a listen. It has some weird vibe. Kinda Middle Eastern towards the end. And you wonder why it is co-titled "Who's Sane." Get it??? LOL

Just came off a long road trip and wanted to hear something new before I pass out. I'm in no condition to do a critique, but I thought this was a very cool piece. Thanks.

I forgot what a road trip feels like. What a wierd piece of music to listen to before you pass out. ;) Hope you did not have any nightmares about a funk/jazz/latin band beaming down into the Sahara desert. :D Thanks for checking out my "recipe", SLuiCe.
Word, ----Lee:D ;)

You will kiss the stands those future monitors of yours sit on. You just can't do it with puter or consumer grade speeks. Thanks for listening junplugged.

P.S. If you really are junplugged, I know a very good gastroenterologist who would be able to assist you. :D  J/K'ing.

if i was jun then i'd be plugged, but i'm j so it ok, i'm unplugged. not to worry thanks for your concern. :)

Thank god. Dat's a good ting'. You from NYC???

enjoyed the tune. Its got some layer things going on that I really liked. The bass did sound good man. You started sounding more like thinking like a bassist around 1:10. mix is pretty good, but I liked the positioning and eq you used for "traffic jam" a little better. That patch at the beginning sounds very similar to a patch a buddy of mine used on a midi-strat with a casio module.

WOW....I like it......you know what this could use?.....huh?

huh?

come on....you know what it needs don't you?

saxophone.................just an idea.........
