This is a song my friend wrote 3 or 4 years ago...I heard it once way back when we were jamming out at my house and it had been on my mind lately so I asked him just this morning if he wanted to record it....I know it still has some kinks in it....drums are all done with loops...(we may go back and use a real kit), guitars are done with a Berhi V-amp. Accoustic was mic'ed with a pair of JM27's and an AT3035 (not a lot of this in the mix). Bass is a blend of a mic'd cab and DI'ed with a DMP3. C1 for vocals....

anyway...we were just having a little fun...whatcha thing???

Nice "fat" sound to this tune - big and bold rhythms. Good song...well mixed. Everything sits nicely in the mix. I guess the acoustic is a bit low but I can hear the "pick on the strings" sound which is kind of a cool percussion in itself. The song seems to have aged well like a fine wine......

The accoustic guitar was a cheap Ibanez...I didnt really like the sound of it, but since it was originally supposed to FEATURE the accoustic...I thought I better at least put a little. Its just that the more we played with it, the more we added. We left a little room for a guitar solo after the second chorus but havnt put it in yet...Maybe I should make it a contest...anyone wanna give a shot at the lead??? It goes in at 2:30 and ends at about 3:15....

thanks for the listen...

Cool tune, dude. I like the way the vocals sit. They fit well. Nice mix. Seems to have a bunch of stuff happening, and captured well. Loops fit in the tune.
Good job man.

thanks man...You always jump in quick to give a listen...:) I like that...

I got tired of messin with the loops...they changed a little in the beginning but after a while...changes came less often...i decided I was ready to mix down and just said to hell with it...and found one that fit the rest of the song....

Dude, this is a good song. Very cool and simple. I really dig it. Somewhat of a Grunge vibe, but also very clean. I really like it dude....

I like it!

The first thing that struck me was the sonics of the guitars and how they fill up the audio spectrum! (if you know what I mean) The guitars are sitting in the mix together very nicely!

The strumming capturing the pick on the strings I love!
the vocals are very smooth and listener friendly, very warm.

My one and only criticism I have (being a guitar player) is: NO GUITAR SOLO!

Very well done in my honest opinion! :)

Kev

PS.....I just re-read the post title.....Was this song a backing for a lead guitar contest?

If so....I know why there is no guitar solo on it! :o

Thanks a lot for the listen man...I did the guitar parts...but Im no soloist....I plan to play around with it some and possibly add something, but I cant pull off something like that on the spot...Have at it if you want to...If you come up with something good...send it to me...

Cool sounding track man... Good mix and all. Dig the vocal sound.

I'll give the lead a quick shot and see if anything good comes out of it...I'll be back in a few minutes ;)

Ok, I've been drinking a bit.... :D ....and was doing some drums, and started on the guitar for a song, and dinked with this. I'm no lead player, but wanted to throw some notes down for fun.
Jeremy's song

I dig the song, so this was just for fun. Real sloppy, and through my POd...

Huuuh, Dogman beat me... I haven't heard yours yet, but here's my quick jam...
nice and sloppy/nasty... out of control ... I've been drinking a bit too... let me know if you like the style and I could clean it up some later

I think lead fills in the last verse/chorus/outro sound cool too... I was messing around with that

Forgive me for being a dumbass, but how would I go about putting a lead track on there?

I really want to as well! :)

Download the song, and put it in your recorder. Then play to it, and mix it up like your own. Then reverse the process, and upload it. Does your recorder use some sort of card, like Compact Flash, or Smart Media?

I am not sure what my recorder uses, I know it has a hard drive?

If I download, you mean onto a disc? and then download the tune into my recorder and play along to it and then mix the lead track with the song?

I'm such a dumbass when it comes to technology! :o  :D

Yeah, somehow get the tune to your recorder. Does it use CD media then? Is that how you get the tunes to pc to convert yo MP3? You will just have to reverse this process.

I plug a USB cable from my recorder to the pc and convert into a wav file, then convert to mp3 and post.

Can you download a file then, from pc to recorder, with usb? Hopefully it is that simple. When you hook up via usb, it should recognize the recorder as something attatched to the pc. Hopefully.

Yes it does!

I'll try when I get home!
Thanx Dogman!
