a little mixing help on this please

Its a trance/dubstep/electro experiment, the first attempt at creating a song in Reaper, and im just getting used to the UI.

I noticed the drums are a drowning a bit. Maybe i should turn everything down , but would i have to remove all the automation on the volume first?

any recommendations welcome!

Keep it up HomeNoise... To be honest this is a bit flat, and if instrumental synth is your thing you need to concentrate on creating a greater sense of movement.

I don’t use synths much, and only to add a bit of width or mood, and they tend to slot into the background well, so apologies that I can’t offer much on mixing and mastering.

Your drums are flat because your synths are sitting in the same frequency of the drums. You should put a hi-pass filter on your synths because the drums sit in the lower frequency. Your genre of music drums start off with a four on the floor drum 1-5-9-13, and then blend other drums within that four. Do not boost any of the samples over 0db. Hope this helps.
