Hey Axe,

That was a cool way to do it...

the vocals got loud every now and then and were out in a few spots,but the feeling was there.......no doubt.

good job!

414MKII? is that a cassette 4 track? If so, then nice job again!

first off...how the heck do you pronounce your [screen] name??

the gtr chords sound familiar, and I recognize the lyrics...but I can't place the two:rolleyes:

like the gtr echo/delay, eh???

anyone who's got a 70's tele has to be an ok guy in my book...
nice conversion.

Have you heard the "peaceful, easy feelin'" rendition?

Sabb;

Thanks for the comments, Bro!

Yeah, the 414 MKII is a 4 Track Cassette. It's one step below the 424 MKIII 4 Track Cassette. It's capable of recording all 4 Tracks at once but it's really only "Demo" quality as far as fidelity goes. It's relatively inexpensive and it's got me into learning Multitrack Recording and mix-down, etc. (I would have bought one of the new ZOOM MRS-4 Digital 4 tracks had they been available at the time) I mix-down to an old puter that I built and convert the WAV to MP3 for uploading. I'm just a 48 year old teenager with new toys to play with. :)

Hey Mix;

First, it's pronounced Axe 4 YawWay. Proper translation of the Anglicized Jehovah. The Father's name.

Yeah, three of the verses are from the original and two are mine.

The Tele is a project Tele that I built last year. I'm the 70's relic! LOL The effects are Chorus and Delay (El Cheapo ZOOM 505 MKII)straight into the Geetar Input on the 414 MKII. No amp sim.

I have heard of the "Peaceful Easy Feeling" rendition but I have never heard it.

Thanks for the comments, Bro.

Nice blend of "House of the Rising Sun" into amazing grace. I was surprised how well the lyrics fit into it. good job.

Nice, unexpected turn of events there.

Thanks for the comments Dick.

I would love to take credit for the idea of putting these two songs together but, I can't. I first learned about it on the Christian Muscian Forum several months ago and at least a couple of Christian artists have done this, though I've never heard any of the other versions. The only things that I may have done different is write a couple of my own verses to it and used guitar as the main instrument as it was basically an Organ song.

When it was mentioned over at CMF, it just automatically clicked and the thing has been trying to burst out of my brain housing group ever since. LOL Our band had been doing a Boogie version of it but I love the idea of putting it to House.

That's a kick! What a great concept. I think you have a good voice for this stuff; you should really let loose on some old Memphis blues or spirituals and see what comes of it. It has that gravelly edge that comes into its own with that genre. Nice work.

Treeline;

Thanks Bro. That's encouraging, man! I'm 48 and just started singing and tend to back off sometimes. LOL Still trying to find my range.

I also recorded "Stormy Monday" on my 414 MKII at the same link if ya wanna check it out.
