I think I did a good job with this one.

Now lets see if it is up to par with the critics here.

Check it out it doesn't have any cuss words :D

All On Me

Lead vocals are way to far back in the mix. They are suppost to be the main attention drawers, but the vocals are now more filler. Turn it up, and everything else down.

The girls singing is cool :) but again, not loud enough, and I can't hear what are singing that clearly, but that should be better if you make them louder.

Also, the beat seems to be 100% the same through out the entire song, expect for a cymbal here and there. Try mixin' it up more.

One last thing: if you ask me, the piano contradicts the drums and the bass in the sence that the drums and the bass are really raw and "broken down", but the piano is as clean and sweet as can be. Maybe try an organ or something instead?

This is Hip Hop????
People think my tunes are country b/c they have acoustic guitars in them, LOL!!!

Anyway, I pretty much echo Halion's points, but the vocal doesn't seem that low to me at all. Is this a remix? I can't understand anything the girls are singing. It's just blurry...were they tracked together, or can you sync up the tracks a bit closer...it'd help.

Halion
I think we where shooting for something that sounds like a "kiddie" song with a rap drum beat behind it.

LOL Giles
I was going for something differant. What would you classify it as?

Naw I had the same little girl sing the part while i had it set up on a 4 bar loop in cubase then i seperated her looped voiced into two or three tracks. I think I had the "girl" clear and more up front in the mix before I was persuaded to turn up the bass. Maybe i should turn them up too anlong with the lead vocals?

i'm listenting to it on laptop speakers, so i'll give it another listen in a few. i can say that the quality of the recording is clear.

the rapping isn't bad, but its not distinctive. i didn't care too much for Nas' kiddie rap song, but his distinctive rap style meant i could listen to it on the radio without immediately changing the station.

the constant tinking of the piano becomes irritating, you should find places to drop it and bring it back.

i'll post again later.

ok...

subjective:
the rapper doesn't quite hit the beat on some passages. he's trying to get something said and tries to string together words that don't quite fall right. its great to have a message, but if its not on beat, no one will listen. otherwise, his style is fine.

objective:
the bass is too up front in the mix. if you pull it back to be slightly under the kick, it would sit better.

Wouldnt know how to classify it. More like what it portrays, a childrens tune that I might hear on PBS. I think Cross Studio has a better handle on this song than me.
