I am looking for a good wah petal. I looked on Zzounds and read some opinions and they liked the vox instead of the dunlop. If you think vox is better, is it worth $50 more for the Clyde Maccoy one or just stick with the $100.

Rose petals are great, but the tone on the tulips rock! :D

Seriously, been using dunlop for years.

i placy classic rock....do some hendrix tunes live. you just can't beat the crybaby. more expensive wahs don't sound as good. the only problem with crybabys is they fuck up alot...just don't hold up. i have went thru so many crybaby wahs it embarassing....but its the only wah that gives me the tone i want.

i've got both the crybaby and the morley.

i use the crybaby in the studio for that deep sounding waka-waka sound that i use in gogo and reggae.

i use the morley in the studio when i want the lead to sing a little more or when i want a wah sound just on a few notes within a rhytm pattern

i use the morely live all the time.

I have the Whine-O as well. Actually, I have two: I originally paid like $150 for one back in '98 or so, and I loved the tone and flexibility of sound that it offered. Then this intermittent switch problem developed--after engaging the wah, sometimes you'd have to nudge the switch with your foot a few times or you'd get a really weak output. It was a strange problem--any time I tried to have it fixed, it started working right again. So, when Musician's Fiend had the thing on sale for $40, I bought a second one. It works fine. The other one actually works fine at the moment too, so I have a spare. It sounds pretty phat on a bass.

My kids wah pretty good. Put my snowboarding boots on their butts and rock back and forth and they can wah in any freq. range ;)

I've got 2 Cry Baby Wahs and I hate 'em. Too metallic. I have to really back off on the tone knob on my guitar. I"m thinking of trying the Bad Horsie and I've read rave reviews about the Tech21 Wah.

Got a crybaby - sounds like a cry baby
Got an old Morley (late 70'2, early 80's would be my geuss, it plugs into the wall) - its got an enormous range and is very versatile, but doesnt sound like a cry baby. Fun.
Got a DOD wah/volume pedal - it just plain sucks. really bad

Im looking at the Budda line of Wah's. I played my friends and it was both versatile and smooth and just sounded awesome to me. I play heavy rock/alternative. It was perfect.

Hope this helps,

i use the dunlop 535 and love it.it offers a little versitily when you can control the depth and speed of the electronics of the petal.i play mostly blues and jazz.this dunlop goes for about $120 at guitar center.

I too like the crybaby. But get an adapter, it will eat batteries.

Tese Real Mcoy is the way to go get their top of the line wah you wont be trading that in a hurry its all adjustable as well but if money is a problem the standard dunlop wont really cause you too much pain

if you can find one

i've got an old beat-up Maestro wah, and while i wouldn't take it on tour as it's so old, for recording it's great -- INTENSE sounds, probably not as subtle or quiet as some others, but great nonetheless. i think it's called a boomerang or something.

I use a VOX, but I don't use a wah too much anymore...

My brother used to use the VOX Vinyl case for a stick bag for his drums... nothing like more than one use...
