Howdy, All!

Can anyone suggest a good/affordable vocal mic? I use a Shure SM58 mic now, but I'm not happy with it.

Rode NT-1, great value low end mic for vocals and acoustic guitar, many people in this place as I did love them.

For the money, I tend to think that the AT4033 ($300 w/ shock mount) would be the best choice. The NT-1 has a very attractive price, but if you think about the future: some day you might have some really nice mics such as the AT4033 and your NT1 might just be sitting in the closet. Know what I mean? And even though this is kind of a dumb reason, the AT4033 is way cooler looking than the NT1. If you look at photos of the NT1 in catalogs, it looks pretty cool, but in real life it is butt-ugly. (dumb reason, but in my book, it counts..hehe)

I'm really picky on the equipment I buy, I had about 300 dollars...and I tested every mic that was in that price range...and I ended up getting the NT-1 and it was a good choice for my first mic...:)

Heheh... cool. To each his own, though, right? And acoustics probably have something to do with which mics you like when trying them out.
