A free recording program?

Anybody know where I can find a free recording program on the web that'll run on XP? The digidesign here doesn't seem to run on it.

ddclip
trakadat
goldwave.com i believe has one.
tou can find a list at hitsquad.com under multitrack recording music software.
for a few bucks i highly recommend magix audio studio and powertracks. also n track.

ChristopherDawn, I don't see anything on fasoft.com that's free except for a horribly crippled demo version of N-Track.

cacheek, what are your requirements? Multitrack? or just stereo? I use Audacity (which is free) for editing my stereo mixes.

Last I checked the N-Track demo was pretty much the full version besides no 24bit recording.
 
Effects plugins allowed only on the first track. To me that's crippled.

Meh, didn't know. It seems to work out fine for everybody else.
 
Oh, one other thing: You're supposed to either stop using N-Track, or pay for it, after a certain number of days; so it's not really "free". It's more like shareware. ProTools FREE, on the other hand, is truly free. I'm NOT saying it's better, mind you! But it could be better for some.
