A few issues

My first problem is acoustic treatment for my recording space. As it's a rental space of my lead singer, I was looking for a portable option for treatment. I'm looking at maybe a portable wall set-up with bass traps and maybe an overhead brace to have a cloud. I'm not sure what to do even after reading several articles on the subject. I'm open to any and all ideas.

The second issue is I'm looking for a all-purpose usb mixing console, which has switchable phantom power on each channel and can be used as a sub mixer for my drum kit live. 8-16XLR channels with or without compression. I'm not sure where to look and my budget isn't up to par with getting a digital mixer or anything of the like in the 1K US range or higher.

Even propping a bass(boradband) trap on some boxes or something in each of the rooms corners will have an impact

Those 3M Hook things that can be removed simply by pulling on the gummy stuff inside and don't leave a mark could also be useful for wall mounting some traps "Picture Frame" style in a rented space where you don't want to permanently alter anything.

Take care of the corners and first reflection points and you'll already be in much better shape for mixing.

Thanx for the tip Bristol. I never thought that a picture frame sized piece would have that much impact.

The room is an open style basement where I'm basically confined to an open area, well 2 walls one being 8' and the other being only 6' the rest is totally open for about 14' directly behind me and 28' to the left of me, where there's another open room.

I was thinking based on where I'm located if a plywood wall with 705 or 703 would be a good idea. Something with a curve or some type to sort of isolate the area more.

I have 5 bass traps on plant stands or rolling stands. Highly portable.

I like the rolling stand option. I am getting materials to build Gobo's and Bass Traps. I found a few links with great detail on construction.

The one thing I'm not 100% sure on is the location of the desk in relation to the room. I'm trying to relocate the control area to a more suited spot, other than the corner of a large open room.

I think I would look hard at putting the desk on the left wall in your sketch (narrow end of room) in Room A or B, with speakers firing down the long dimension.

Thanks gehauser, I had to do some sweet talking but we have moved the desk to a new area of the room and are in the process of building the gobos and bass traps. We have 2 completed and hope to finish the room within the next month.
