LMAO...I just came from the How to change your blurb thread, and realized that It was you RAMI, that I was exchanging a couple of post with.
You never read my final reply to you. Least ways, did not respond!!! :D :D :D

Good stuff Rami. The lo and hi end sounds good. The multiple vocal backing part sound a little out, in the mixing front. The singing is real good. The snare sounds a little dead. Would like to hear more hi on the snare. maybe try cutting some lo mids a tiny bit with a wideish Q.
Not too sure on the guitars. Sounds kinda direct to me. Sorry if they aint direct.
Guitars remind me of some tones from the band REM.

Well, I'm re-doing that lame clean guitar track. A few people commented on the lack of either balls or volume in the guitars. Then Ecktronic clinched it with the REM comparison. I realise that REM are a lot more successful than I am, so maybe I'm not in a postition to say this, but I'll say it anyway. They suck and I don't want to sound like them. The guitar is miced, not direct, but it's a weak sound, so I can see how one might think it's direct.Thanx for all the comments. It will now become that much better a song because of the few improvements I'll make based on the comments I got. Thanx again everyone.

True-eurt. I'll go check out the "Blurb" thread. I forgot all about it since posting there a while ago.:)

I just uploaded a new version. I re-did the the clean (lame) guitar track and put a little more high's on the snare. I also turned up the bass just a bit. I'm not going to provide the link in this post, because it's not about trying to get you to go listen to my tune. If you really want to hear it, you know where the link is. I just want to thank those of you who commented for forcing me to not be lazy and re-do the fucking guitar part. My insticts told me fron the beginning that it was too clean and weak, I just needed some of you to confirm it. Thanx...This place is beyond awesome. It's like having as many fresh ears as you want at your finger tips. And not just any ears...Some damn good ears at that. I can't thank some of you enough (and you know who you are).

RAMI, listened to the second version just now, and compared it to the first. I did notice the drums at the beginning sounded better, especially the snare. Not huge changes, but the second version is ever so slightly more full than the first. Seems you opened up the drums a bit. Again, nice tune.

Did you change anything with the cymbal crashes? They seem brighter, and a bit more full on the second mix, but that could be my imagination?

Dog...you have great ears, my friend. I can't remeber all the changes I've made since the first time I posted this song, because I have made many changes. I think the biggest change I made was to realy less on the "close micing" and bring up the overheads. They seem to capture the drums and the room. I might have been too concerned with the snare mic before, and I think I realised that the truth is in the overheads if they're placed right. Thanx, alot. by the way....

Ok, where's True...I'm ready for more bumping now.

Bumpity bump, bump, bump....That should do you for an hour or so. :D

I happen to be single now...If you keep bumping me, I'm going to show up to work on Monday with a cast on my arm.

LOL!!! :o :D

I am listening to the 70's song! I had not heard this one. It is right now my fave. I won't be able to get enough of it. Wow, It is so good. I am to the Zeppi-voice part now.
This song was a brilliant idea, and well executed!

Hahaha, welcome to my nightmare!

:) TRUE

Wow..thanx True...That tune should really be re-done one day...It is one of the first tunes I recorded when I first put a home studio together. It's not a great recording, but it was done at a time when I just wanted to rock. I now find myself trying too hard to sound "current". I have to go back not giving a shit.

RAMI,
I think you have broken of code for happiness, and fulfillment of your passion.....

Embrace, and perform your hearts dancing.

As for those who don't like your steps....Screw the basturds!! :D :D :D

And please let me know when you have redone it, I'd love to hear it. Hope you don't change anything, except the sound quality though. :)

Yeah RAMI im sorry to say your guitars sounded like REM. I agree that they aint a good band, but they do have a few good songs. Totally over rated band that are bland most of the time.

Had a listen to your new mix and the snare is snappier sounding, nice. Did you lower the volume of the backing? sounds like you did, but it was ages ago i listened to the original.
Cant remember to compare guitars, but they sound nice for the solo at 2:40.
Maybe bring the lo end up more at mastering to fill out the song more. starting to dig the tune man. cool.

Eck, don't ever apologise for giving an honest critique. If it wasn't for your REM statement, I wouldn't have gone back and re-recorded the guit. I appreciate everyone's comments and take them all into consideration...I'm a long, long way away from thinking I can evaluate my own music objectively. Thanx again.

I in no way was implying anything about your comments Ecktronic. I hope you realize that. Yours, and most all others are being honest in what you hear. That is what this clinic is for. I was referring to jerks that like to tear people and their sounds apart, just for the pleasure of it. Those who would be envious, and mean-spirited about their critic. I am sorry if you thought I was impling something towards you.
It never ocurred to me, that it may be taken personally by someone in here giving their help.

So for the record, that is never my intentions .

When you read a statement of mine like that, it is for the jerk-hearted only. They know whom they are.
Man, my mouth can get me in trouble fast. :(
