my name is richard all the way from australia. just a beginner to be honest. i just started to home recordings about a year ago and today i experienced a wierd thing. i use cool edit pro 2. i made my drum loop from fruity loops adn i inserted it on cool edit pro. now when i try to record my guitar then even when the metronome is off i can hear the metronome playing along with the guitar track that is being recorded. and when it reached the actual audio file of the drum loop then it recorded the drum loop in the same trck as wel. i dont know whats happening.never experienced this before. can any one please help??

Describe how you are routing your audio in and out of your interface and your routing inside CEP.

Sounds like instead of recording Line In on your computer the input is set to something like "What U Hear" or "Wave Out". This is a common issue.

The solution isn't within CE...you have to change the routing on the Audio controls for your computer. Exactly how to do this depends on what version of Windows you have--on XP and before there's a Recording Mixer. On Vista and W7 there's a menu that opens up when you click the little loudspeaker icon.
