i was wondering if it was possible to bounce my tracks to the computer, clean them, then bounce them back onto the recorder so that it only takes up 1 track?

Absolutely.
I found it was always much better to do bouncing to another (preferably digital) recorder with my portastudios.
Go into the computer as hot as possible without clipping and do the same on the bounce back to tape.
It may event help to bounce through a compressor or outboard EQ (or both).
