A Day Late and a Dollar Short

I just posted the question regarding the differences from Professional 8 vs PA9. (I just acquired 9 and really don't see much of a difference). Yeah, so I've been ignoring the e-mails I've been getting from Cakewalk about this Sonar thing. I figured it was another over-priced lame duck like the Peavey Studio Mix thing, so I haven't read it. So now there's Sonar. Was P.T. Barnum right??? Also, Do the fine people at Cakewalk read this Forum? If they want REAL user feedback, they ought to.

I'm a bit confused and a bit of a knucklehead so this might be wrong: but I thought the Cakewalk Professional product was basically a very good MIDI sequencer but without any digital audio recording capability. Cakewalk Pro Audio was the one that included audio recording integrated within the same basic interface.

Differences between Pro Audio 8 and Pro Audio 9 -- I'm not sure, I never had version 8, I went from version 6 to version 9. The one thing off the top of my head that I do recall was the addition of the so-called WavePipe audio acceleration, which improved digital audio streaming in most cases (depending on the audio hardware).

Professional 8 vs Pro Audio 9

Professional 8 did in fact have digital audio capabilities, however, limited in regard to Pro Audio 9. The big differences I found were: with Professional 8, you had limited simultaneous recording ability, while 9 opened it up to 128 tracks; And instead of having to put your left audio input on one track, and the right on another for stereo aplications on V.8, you have the option to put both left and right audio inputs onto one track with V.9.

Thanx for the input, though.

BTW, when does this grasshopper snatch the pebbles from one's hand and become something other than a "NEWBIE"?
