Trailing Behind Again
I posted this a couple years ago, to good reviews. Everyone said it was a good song bed, and needed something: lyrics, a lead guitar; something.

I think I finally found that something. BentRabbit added his drums, and WhiteStrat added the incredible lead guitar (but it's not a strat!:D )

Tell me what I need to fix.

Look for 'Leona'

Rokket man!
Pretty good song.
Congrats for all that collab ...nice eletr. guitar playing, Whitestrat...

Excellent bass guitar tone!(who?)
BD could be a bit loud.
Overall mix (IMO) could be benefit of mid frequencies, let´s say around 500hz.

Thanks. The bass is me and my ESP 5 string. I DI'd it into my mixer and ran with it.

I'll look at the overall mix again. I haven't really messed the mix, I just dropped in the drums and lead guitar and threw up the faders.

Thanks for the listen...

Really tasty melodic guitar in the intro, very nice tone and playing! Listening at work on PC , so hard to be really subjective about the mix/eq...but it sounds well balanced , cool bass underneath that guitar, and the acoustic rounds things out well...fade out was kinda long, if I had to nit about anything. I dug it..nice job to all involved!!

I have always been a fan of bands like Judas Priest, who's fadeouts were damn near as long as the song, so that's what I was emulating. Of course, if that's all you could find (I know it's on a pc) then I am happy with it.

Thanks for the listen.

I'm at work on listening on PC speakers but it sounds pretty good to me. I definitely dig the song I'm on my second listen right now. Good work fellas.

When this started I said "that's cool. but some harmony guitar would sound killer". No sooner said than done, very Boston-esque in that regard. Soundwise everything is pretty clear. Good job to all involved, lemme play on one!

Sure, PM on the way... :D

It sounds quite good, bass is full and thumping, acoustic guitar full sounding, nice soaring lead lines throughout. I would like to hear a bit more of Rabbit's drums-they a somewhat buried in the mix to me. A bit less delay on the lead lines, the long tail on the delay is sort of smearing some of the notes. But then again-lots of effects was what the 80's were about~;)

I can't do much about the lead line unless I ask Strat to send me the dry track, and to be honest, I think that if I was to mess with it, the lead would lose some of its soul.

Thanks for the listen Tony. Perhaps if the gods are kind, I'll be able to post our collab before I leave for work...

Unfortunately, that delay is printed--tracked, not added in the box. So either the delay stays, or the lead goes! :D

You're right on both counts Tony: 1) It's a bit much, and its smears it in places; 2) That's what the 80's were about! :D

Just my 2 cents worth-it's totally fine as it is, thats why I posted the 80's disclaimer at the bottom of the post.
I played lots of 80's rock-and I sure remember a lot more of those songs & times than I do the 70's--:p
