Hey.
I accidently posted a weird version of one of my songs, and as I dont know how to attach the right version to the old threat I made this new thread instead. Anyway, Im a bit unsure of my voice as I have only recently started singing.
All feedback and criticism is welcome.
Thanks in advance

I think your vocal has potential. In my opinion where it lacks on this track is on the confidence front which is having a negative effect on your diction and your likely-hood of actually engaging with the lyrics to deliver a sense of your interpretation of what the words actually say. I'm wondering if the fact that the vocal sits back in the mix is a result of that confidence shortfall? Is it that you've played it during mixing and felt unsure about hearing your own voice? Maybe try singing it to an imagined recipient who is the other side of the mic and imagine that they might not understand each word but the mood of the content through your execution is at the fore of the delivery. It could be useful to have some subtle instrument sounds playing some of the melody notes under your vocal to imply a slight choral effect without actually tainting the vocal with that effect. I've not been singing for very long, but to be honest, in the isolation of my studio with lights down low I can be delivering my vocal to whom ever I choose on whatever platform and actually enjoy that experience which in turn brings out some qualities in my vocal that I was unaware of.

all the best

Hey.
Thanks for taking time to listen to the idea. You are right about the confidence playing a huge factor but another factor as to why the diction is a bit off is that it was just on the fly lyrics, so at some points I wasnt aware of what I would sing :)
I will definitely try out the tip you gave me.
