Thoughts on improving this are welcome.

Pretty decent sounding guitar. It tends to jump out at times and get muddy when you play it hard. The vocals delivery was kinda random, your voice tone is ok, it's just that the phrasing was kinda 'out-there.' No real hook in the song. It sounds like you really had something to say, but didn't take the time to carve it into the song in a more accessible and memorable way. Hey, Bob Dylan did the same thing imo ;)

The song is interesting. The groove/timing could be stronger, vocal phrasing sounds awkward sometimes. I might add a drum beat at some point. Vocals could use some reverb or a little delay. Good song.

Thanks man and you're right it wasn't something I could practice for, I just did it. I like the rawness a bit but I do need to smooth it out.

I did one rhythm, lead, bongos and vocals take each using 2 NT_5's and a SM58, only had a couple hours :)

Thanks and ya, click would have helped. I'm thinkin drums too...

PDP, I think there is already a delay on the vocals.

You had a couple stray guitar noises here and there. For example, near the beginning it sounded like you over-strummed and hit the guitar's body.

Not really my style, but I think you've done a decent job of recording it.

There's no processed delay, actually I did little processing other than balance. It probably delay from different mic distances that you are hearing.

The guitar noises are there and an unfortunate byproduct of banging my palm onto the strings when I strum. I do that to ring out harmonics but obviously sometimes better than others:). It's a style I'm working on and sometimes when I concentrate on doing just that, it comes out decent.

Thanks for the comments. I've been without a computer sound system for awhile and I think I'll have to catch up some and review some of these mp3 threads.

Hey NY pretty good stuff here ..... I'd only raise the volume of the vocal and the noodling guitar a bit. That is all.

There are some pitch issues in the vocal - particularly in the first half of the song. You seemed to warm up later on in the song.

The guitar sounds OK, but there's a boomy frequency somewhere - I'm guessing it's somewhere between 150 and 250 hz.

Thank you. I'll be revisiting this for sure but before I do I have to keep writing and composing for awhile. I have a whole album to come up with :)

Thanks TripleM. I agree with the vocals. I sang sitting down making up the melody in my head as I went along and didn't have any processing going on. Wow, so many excuses:). I'll check into the boominess.
