A Change Of Style

Evidently I've been recording too many "Pop" songs,
because my friends said they're getting bored with it.
So I tried my hand at some sorta bluesy thing.
I put down the Rickenbacher & played my Les Paul.
Yep-That is a cheesy Yamaha drum machine on it.
I plan on adding real drums soon, but I would like feedback on the soloing (rare for me) and the execution of the
song (Did I execute it?):D
Anyway...It's called "Love Assassin"

Dougie, there are not all that many white guys that can do a blues thang...and you're not one of them... bah-BOOM-clank-tssssssssshhh.........but seriously folks, the rythmn work was very well done indeed...the lead seemed to have timing issues to my ears, but I can't play lead worth shit, so don't take that as a slam...and the drum sounds, as you know, could be improved upon, even if only some lower eq on what you got......blues, is by nature, a sorta laid back thing, with despair, regret, reflection, unrequited love and other themes of life's not so great moments making up the gist of the genre.....your song was...like....happy or something......

ps I've never written a blues song I was happy with....so maybe I'm just bouncing my own inadequateness off of you....gibs:D

pps "bah-BOOM-clank-tssssssssshhh" is courtesy of dabluesman!

Thanks for the use of your ears.
I take your criticism gladly, because I know that you
take the time to listen to the songs before you comment on them..I will work more on my lead work. It does sound a little behind the tempo now that you mention it.
Guess I'm more of a Bass Player & Drummer, eh?
Thanks again for your time, but I have to tell you..

You messed up a record I was going for.
29 people either read my posting or heard the tune without
responding, and you killed it by giving a response!

There goes my record, right out the window.
That's ok..I still hold that record ($1.26) at MP3.com

I don't find much problem with the timing of your lead lines, I think they sound fine! If anything a bit of panned verb on them and a washy ride cymbal might help out. Great bass playing, nice tone. Rhythm in the right channel could come up.

Cool stuff.

Thanks for taking a listen.
I wish that I had this song backed up on ADAT instead of
DAT, so I could go back & put in real drums..
I'll try your advice with the cymbal sounds, though I'll
have to do it across the board now.
Thank you for the Bass comments! That was a different
style for me to play, I'm usually a "pop" Bass player.
