Thanks a lot, fellas. Some thoughtful posts in there, like you guys were listening. Very cool. I appreciate it. This song will stand in very sharp contrast to the one I'm finishing up. Night and Day. Apples and Oranges.
Joro- Thanks a lot brotha. The acoustic mics are a pair of Octava MC012's. Oh and.... D-C/D on the verses. Ddim7-Bm/D-A#/D-D on the chorus. I'm glad you liked the bass tone. The bass is borrowed and it truly sucks. I literally rolled off...no... I cut off everything from 2K up because of the noise. But I do like what I ended up with for this tune. It doesn't need a lot of that string edge. Anyway, thanks a lot Joe.
Pedullist- hehe...I really haven't been working on this one. I'm almost finished another song. I've been putting off this mix while the ideas were flowing for the new one. I am very glad you dug this though. Again, very good to hear the bass sounds good....see my response to Joro about that. You might laugh.
Thanks a ton Tjarko.
fprod south- It seems you and I share a lot of the same attitude toward music writing, creating. Just about every time you post a comment, it's thoughtful and agreeable on my end. And I already know we share some of the same musical inspiration. I'll repeat the offer- if you ever want some tracks, let me know. Thanks dude.
WATYF- Responded.
Toki- Yes, less is quite often more. I'm compelled to get up close and inside sometimes. Happy you liked it man...thanks.

)
christiaan- Thanks a lot man. Someone well known on this board once told me my "voice sucks, in a good way." Hopefully I'm learning to make the best of it. Thanks again!
Chris Harris-
skids- damn, I really did leave the toilet seat up. Boy am I gonna get it. Thanks man.
Canopus- I don't know who Blur/David Byrne are. Hell, I don't know who over half of the people I get compared to are, but the cool thing about that is I get to learn about other artists that I might be able to relate to. Thank you very much for the listen.
Thanks again guys.

TripleM-
I would say probably, BUT I really didn't do much to the original apart from cutting redundant frequencies, particularly in the low to low/mid range. Reverb is very subtle and I applied it over the entire mix- to each track that is, via aux bus. It's as close to natural as it gets still keeping a decent blend. Actually here are those settings if anyone else happens to be reading and is interested....I was also struck by how similar the mixed and unmixed versions seemed. I wonder if the difference is more pronounced on a nicer sound system.

Chris Harris-
Ya there really aren't any effects other than the bit of reverb I detailed to TripleM. The song just doesn't call for it like some of the bigger stuff I do. I'm glad you liked that harmony. I recorded it and smiled. I was like..."I CAN sing in tune!" haha. Thanks a lot Chris.It's funny, but it seems a LOT cleaner in terms of reverb/FX choices than your other stuff, but it's not missing anything at all.
